88,000 deaths annualy attributable to excess alcohol consumption

88,000 deaths annually attributable to excess alcohol consumption. More than twice that of motor vehicle-related deaths. More than twice all firearms deaths even including suicides. Both of which also are highly driven by alcohol-associated factors. Not even considering all of the other social ills and health problems and costs short of death that it creates.

It is the magic elixir of stupid shit. It should be banned. If not completely so, then highly regulated. We need common sense alcohol reform. Comprehensive background checks including mental health screenings for purchasers. Permits for consumption requiring training in alcohol safety. Colleges and sporting events should be alcohol-free zones. Tough penalties for straw purchases. One liter a month purchase limits. Laws requiring that alcohol be locked up safely in the home. The National Restaurant Association and its puppets in Congress and state legislatures who oppose sensible reforms in order to profit from the sale of this poison have blood on their hands.

Come on people. This isn't rocket science. Think of the children.

Could you imagine how much it would cost us taxpayers who had to start paying to lock up all the alcohol criminals? I guess maybe it is a good idea as we are legalizing weed one state at a time. Our jail and prison cells will empty out as weed becomes legal so we can fill them back up with alcohol criminals. This may be a good plan.

Alcohol is a poison - it kills you. The fact that it is legal is comforting to gun rights persons? okay I guess. If life is unmanagable with alcohol in your life go to an aa meeting today.

Nope, 30 packs of Coors light , will drive you to your favorite neighbhorhood Bar for 2 more Whiskey tall !

Then on your way back, while driving your own automobile, you will not know that you just killed the nice old neighbor who was crossing the street.

That's what they are talking about, to know when you need to start going to the Alcoholic Anonymous meetings before going to jail for road death of your neighbhors.

Some people just don't understand the risk, and will keep on drinking after they are done with the Coors Light , something stronger at the neighborood bar !
