Ditch those cheap ass Motorola GMRS/FRS radios and get something like a cheap ass Baofeng UV-5R+. The GMRS/FRS channels will be jammed with riff raff. With a radio like the Baofeng you can transceive and listen in on frequencies not possible on a family radio walkie talkie. Plus the range is improved and the battery life is better.

I think Just past Front royal you would encounter thousands of trees that have been cut down laying on the road or every billy farmer goes nuts and declares "the city folk have done invaded these here lands" and start popping the unsuspecting at 400 yards. You would also run out of gas before you made it past the haymarket or woodbridge area unless you left within 10 minutes of a emergency. Bugging in would be your only option if you wanted to survive and it is a whole lot easier.

20-30k in supplies ( no bunker, they are useless) and a few modifications to your house the county does not know about and you could technically not have to step off your property for 2 years except to throw the shit bucket into the gutter every once in a while. You have that right. It's those in denial who will be in for a big surprise. A friend and I were talking the other day about buying up a load of AR-15s @ approximately $999 each. Then, put them away for a few years until the crap starts flying. You could then offer them for $2,500 or more to those in need who didn't purchase weapons when they could still buy them.

Then again, in the middle of a financial collapse, selling those weapons for more than one paid will not necessarily mean that a profit would be made if the dollar is worth zero.

It is amazing just how much people do not know about staying alive in the event of a SHTF moment. First the regular prepper in nothing but a resupply depot for the experienced soldier. Second if you cant carry it then it’s no good for survival. So much effort is put into stockpiling food water and other supplies that one thing is forgotten. You cannot shelter in place very long, the walking dead will spill out of the cities and overrun the suburban areas. A basement can only afford so much protection, and then you are fucked. A good go bag and a plan is the best defense, in the photos I see no maps, where is your compass? The thought that in the DC area you will be allowed to leave by the normal routes is laughable at best. People are creatures of habit and will do the same shit that they do ever day, your normal goes to shit when the top blows off the box in this area.

The Airports get their fuel by pipe line, easements allow for passage out of the area without using roads. A bit of effort and you can find the maps online……….Just a hint. Your bug out vehicle is only as good as the route that you can take. Sound walls jersey barriers and the like will hamper your ability to access alternate routes from the streets……………Sound walls……….yea that’s a good one…those are people walls to control the masses. The only way out is to do the very opposite of what you do every day. Remember ( Habits ) will get you stopped or killed, robbed or raped. Your friends will not be so friendly after 3 days without water. Just a short post to get your attention.
