iPad Help

Windows laptop shit the bed, so decided to pick up an iPad Mini Retina for my first tablet and already dealing with some annoyances.

1. How do I keep Safari from refreshing all my tabs when I switch over to another one? It's very annoying when I'm typing or watching something in those other tabs, and then have it all reset. This never happened on my laptop.

2. How do I continue listening to a YouTube video in the background, while browsing Safari or using other apps? Doesn't make any sense why video playback stops as soon as you hit the home button or switch to another Safari tab. I listen to some SiriusXM radio shows through various YouTube channels and would like to mess around with other shit while I'm listening.

3. More YouTube complaints... Why are some videos "not available for your mobile device" or "not available in your country"? It seems that YouTube's search results vary slightly between computer and mobile versions. Some videos are inexplicably missing on mobile, but show up through a computer search. Why can't smartphones and tablets receive the full YouTube experience?

Is it the same deal for Android users?

Posting on FFXU from a tablet or smartphone is very tedious.

If you must use Safari, you can swipe up (starting at the very bottom) anytime to resume the audio in the background.

Just use chrome, it automatically keeps your videos playing.

I always used Chrome on my laptop. Is it better than Safari for iPad?

Obvious troll.

Answer to question 1: by a windows pc

Answer to question 2: by a windows pc

Answer to question 3: by a windows pc

The problem is apple tries to act all artsy and cutting-edge and to school for cool.

Apple products have horribly written software that does not function well (question 1)

Apple puts expensive hardware in their products that know one will ever use. Examples: finger lock sensor, laptops have way too much ram that the average user will never need.

Time will tell how Apple will fail and Windows will continue into eternity (heaven is run by windows 8)

I have a first gen Ipad. I haven't had an update in a year. That means no Chrome. I jailbroke it, but those apps don't help much. I just use it for netflix and such.

I have 3 iPads and never seen that happen.

Use the YouTube app instead of safari. My kids do it all the time.

Apple doesn't use Flash only HTML5. Old versions of Android play Flash and rooted Android will too. New stock ROM androids will not.

Apple products are really designed for kids and/or libs.

Can't believe nobody else has the problem with Safari tabs auto-refreshing. Did a quick Google search, and the general consensus seems to be that an insufficient amount of RAM forces some tabs to reload, in order to make space for the new action (opening a new tab or app). For example, I just had to rewrite this whole post when I went to check my weather app.

I do actually use the YouTube app, and it still doesn't allow for background play. Don't know why such a basic, useful feature would be left out.
