Psyops soldier identified as suspect in Siikh temple shooting
Posted by: Lester ()
Date: August 06, 2012 12:47PM

US police were investigating Monday the motives of a former psy-ops soldier who allegedly attacked a Sikh temple in Wisconsin and killed six people before being shot dead himself.

Officials identified the suspect slain by police as Wade Michael Page, a 40-year-old white male formerly attached to the US Army base in Fort Bragg, North Carolina as a "psychological operations specialist."

Page served between April 1992 and October 1998, and was a qualified parachutist who received several good conduct awards and a National Defense Service Medal, but never won significant promotion.

I'm surprised they didn't cover up his specialty.

Wade Michael Page

Wade Michael Page, the man suspected of killing six people at a Sikh temple in suburban Wisconsin, was a member of a racist skinhead band, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Soon after Page was identified as the suspect Monday morning, the SPLC reported that he founded the band End Apathy, which the organization described as a "racist white power" trio.

A MySpace page for the band describes them as an “old school” band with “punk and metal” influences.

According to police, Page enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 1992 and was serving in the psychological operations unit out of Fort Bragg, N.C. He was discharged in October 1998, though the specific circumstances of his discharge are not immediately clear.

Page does not mention his military career in the Label 56 interview, but he does refer to his life since leaving the Army.

“Back in 2000 I set out to get involved [in music] and wanted to basically start over,” he said. “So, I sold everything I owned except for my motorcycle and what I could fit into a backpack and went on cross country trip visiting friends and attending festivals and shows.”

According to Heidi Beirich, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center 's intelligence project, the group has been tracking Page since 2000, when he allegedly attempted to purchase goods from the neo-Nazi National Alliance. The National Alliance, according to the law center, was once considered “America’s most important hate group.”

There has been no recent activity on End Apathy’s MySpace page and some online reports suggest the band broke up last year.

So you've quoted the Huffington Post and the Soros funded SPLC. Do you read any legitimate groups websites or are you just stuck on stupid?

So, what are you saying?

We shouldn't be too quick to judge a neo-naxi group. You obviously consider nazis part of the conservative republican base with that vehement defense.

Keep up the good work.

He's left a paper trail since he was in the military and rock band. Since they appeal to a certain group, their beliefs will be reflected in their songs and interviews. Too bad you can't put 1 and 1 together to make 2.

What is a psy-ops soldier? What are psychological operations? Is that like when we blasted Vanilla Ice over loudspeakers to flush out Manuel Noriega?

Yes, he probably did. If you are going to hate someone, you at least need to know who your target is. If his intent was to go out in a blaze of glory, he sure screwed it up. Racist skinheads with easy access to guns - a winning combination.

What is it that this clown "attempted to purchase" from a hate group that owns a record label and a radio station?

What purchase could keep the attention of the law center for 12 years without any action?

A seemingly failing hate group at that.

More questions than answers.

Usually a white supremacist that wants to kill an obvious minority would go after black people.

He had a 9/11 tattoo, he obviously had a special hatred for Muslims, he saw the turbins and temple like structure and thought it was a bunch of Muslims.

Right after 9/11, a lot of Sikhs were targets of hate crimes because their dress was mistaken for Islamic wear.

They interviewed a Sikh guy on the radio a few months ago whose brother was murdered by some stupid belligerent redneck who thought 9/11 meant anyone with a turban was fair game.

How stupid is that? "Gee, my life sucks, and I saw an airplane run into a building. So I'll make my life better by picking out a random guy in a turban and beat him to death."

He didn't have enough hate tats to make the purchase?

It still doesn't compute. He attempts to buy something that the attempted purchase of will get him on a list twelve years ago.

He was in the Army during Desert Storm (never left the states though) so you know the military had given him cursory training in identifying the enemy. Yet he couldn't tell the difference between Sikhs and Arabs?

My point here is this...if the powers that be are tracking loser fuckups like this guy and they still pull off something like this, are they paying attention at all to the really bad seeds? What else are we in store for?

You overestimate the training given to military personnel. According to Hollywood all troops are "highly trained"; in reality they know enough to get by.

There are way too many loser fuckups to pay attention to. The fact is that anyone with a car is a potential mass-murderer. All it takes is a crowd to run over and a will to do it. And the law enforcement people tracking loser fuckups are about as "highly trained" as the military.

Add to that the fact that SPLC is an organization of left-wing kooks who label anyone they slightly diagree with as a neo-nazi. They keep lists of people who aren't worthy of police attention and waste the time of the cops.

You know the military history angle is going to feed the conspiracy theorists. I bet by Friday there will be an intricate story detailing how Timothy McVeigh and Wade Michael Page were part of a network of white power sleeper agents slowly being activated across the country.

You're missing the point. He may or may not have attempted to purchase a car to kill lots of people with. What was stated was that it was noted 12 years ago that he "attempted to make a purchase". If that purchase was important enough to report, why let him ride off into the sunset? And if it wasn't, what was the point in noting it to begin with?

If the SPLC or the ADL thinks you are associated with any right-wing group they will put your name on a list, and there it will likely stay, especially if you play in a nazi rock band.
