If this is Meade being "as popular as ever, even more so"

Really this is Meade at his finest with more than a dozen years in the business? 16 total hours of music making in his busiest month.

Sometimes freak show acts can make it into semi demi stardom.
In the 80s the del Rubio triplets made it as far as a guest shots on episodes of "married.....with children" and 'the golden girls'.
But they were actually playing in real night clubs to a real audience.
I don't think they ever 'Headlined' but the proto hipsters of the day would turn out just to get a goof off of them.
All of Meade's yapping off about being some anti-idol for hipsters hasn't resulted in any actual audience.
Who would you rather listen to in a full Christmas set-Meade or these broads?

What if members of FU go to the Reston gig, and do a stare down at Meade. Just get together and stare at him for a couple of hours while he plays. Do you think he would get the message that his attitude is not welcome in Fairfax County?

I had to go to Reston Town Center for non-Meade-related reasons. I made it a point to drive past the fountain and there was no sign of Meade. This was around 6:00 pm.
It was too dark to see if there were a bunch of rotten tomatoes on the ground, so I can't offer that as an explanation for him not being there. But I drove slowly past and even opened my window. He was not there.
The fact that I did not go blind and my ears did not bleed would seem to back this up.

What better way to honor Meade than to dress and sleep like he does during those 72 hour 'vacations' he goes on from time to time.
You know, he shows at one of the few remaining record stores with a stack full of his unsalable CDs and he starts in about him being an "important recording star".... the police are called, they shoot him with a tranquilizer gun and off he goes for three days of relaxation.

I love to do nothing more on A Saturday than to dress like Meade and pretend to be him.

I think his calendar just had some mix ups. I saw him play at Reston Town Center last week. He was just finishing. Some kids were listening to him and he was doing some kind of Children's sing along.
I wanted to say hi, but he packed up before I had the chance. Also it was so freaking cold I didn't want to risk pnuemonia to meet Meade.

He should be a little more diplomatic in his choice of Gigs.
Whether racist connotations with lee-Jackson day are valid or not doesn't matter.

My daughter really loves Meade Skelton and is looking forward to seeing him at his next gig.

I notice that the WRIR christmas show is on it and Meade is not a part of it.
