Incorrect. Big Brother is the State. Only they have the power. The corporations have the greedy profit motive to get in bed with the government, both with huge campaign contributions and hiring ex-federal officials to have the government do their dirty work. But never forget that it is only through the power to fine, arrest, tax and jail that makes the true Big Brother.

The US government has been captured by the big corporations.

The revolving door has swung in both directions so many times that the expression that one is getting in bed with the other is obsolete. They are very nearly one and the same. Congress may occasionally throw up legislation hostile to industry to scare some loose change out of the industry, but it's just a dance...

Don't try to portray Bradley Manning or Edward Snowden as heroes. They should be shot.

Using government resources for private use under the guise of security. BP did the same with the Coast Guard to keep reporters and investigators out.

The fools in all this are the partisan sheeple on both sides who think there's now a difference between the parties. Blind sheeple bleating at each other while folks like Obama, Biden, Boehner, McCain, etc all laugh at them while they live like the country's aristocracy. Bush = Obama = Clinton = Bush. The mirage goes on, propped up by the MSM and even outlets like most talk radio and web sites.

If you are so uninformed that you don't even know the man's name, then why should anyone pay attention to anything you say?

Oh wait, you say you simply got the name wrong in your hurry to sentence the man to death.

It's sad that these people involved with the program keep throwing up what they consider as successes and they keep getting debunked. When I read the thing about setting up a national database with criminal dispositions for each individual, the first thing that comes to mind is the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany. They're trying to find targets they can entrap to turn into informants.

That's pretty accurate, but there's more to it than that. Part of it is just maturing and accepting the situation, then adapting to live in that situation.

Every government in every country with the capability is monitoring their citizens or has the means to monitor if they so choose. A government exists to protect itself so it can protect its people. You want true freedom and a government that minds its own business? Try living in luxurious Somalia. Otherwise, stop calling your terrorist buddies and the bogeyman will leave you alone.

Just wait. The next step is the predictive stuff that's starting to be pushed now. The focus of monitoring will shift from what people have done to what they are likely to do based on predictive models. And they'll attempt to justify that on the same basis as they are this now. We must protect you!

Didn't take this clown any time at all to get to #5, acceptance.

Betcha he rationalized it away too when Coach Sandusky said he was just teaching those boys shower hygiene.

So that's your argument? Freedom = Somalia and terrorism, so we must accept living in East Germany?

Sarcasm is used by the mentally feeble in debates.

If you notice, MrMephisto actually had absolutely nothing to say except a couple of jokes and a sarcastic remark.

Manning definitely isnt. Snowdens initial act of exposing the program was fine, since they hes gone into Manning territory and has lost all benefit of the doubt for his motives. Some wonder is his GF was a foreign intelligence operative who put him up to this

The only people who are wondering if GF recruited him don't understand that foreign intelligence services would have had him remain in place at NSA.

Not necessarily. Thinking youre doing a service to your country exposing something and actually spying for a foreign government are two completely different things. Lets be honest too he wasnt getting any higher in the NSA though I really dont know how he even got to where he did.

Im not saying she did but its a question worth asking.

HAINES CITY, Fla. - A new program designed to track students using iris scanners backfired for the Polk County School District.

The uproar from parents started when their kids came home and told them someone was scanning their eyes.

It's called the Eyelock Iris Identity Management made by Stanley Security Solutions. A video on the company's website shows how the biometric screening system works.

The problem is no one explained it to parents.

The district planned to send out a letter that explains how it works and gives the option for parents to opt-out if they don't feel comfortable.

But the staff mistakenly forgot to send it.

Fuck you and your false outrage about 2006.

You love big government and the erosion of civil liberty, you dumb bureaucrat ass-kissing piece of shit.

This is because you have the mentality of a slave, a serf, a well-oiled dummy, in awe of his master.

Are you being paid per post? I'm inclined to beleive so, seeing as at least one sockpuppet with this writing style has popped up in EVERY NSA thread the last few weeks. The word "BUSH" isn't going to deflect this particular issue away, neither will the race card Obama is so fond of. FYI the Patriot act raised an absolute shitstorm when Bush pushed it through, so your anger is really just baseless.

I'm also pretty certain you're Gerrymanderer2 posting anon, same vitriol, same repeated partisan points.

False. In 2006 it was used against foreigners and in targeted instances not against everyone all the time.

In 2006 the IRS wasnt a political weapon.

In 2006 the DOJ didnt just take what they wanted if they didnt like what you wrote about them.

In 2006 the program was fine, where its been taken now is not fine.

Like like Obama has "evolved" on so many issues so have other people on this.

Once again, a bunch of rapid-fire, rational, and informed responses consisting of everything from acceptance of pedophilia to Nazis. Impressive.

If a report came out that said a terrorist attack or whatever could have been thwarted if they'd had this program, people would blame Obama for the casualties. Regardless, I still don't see this as an invasion of privacy. They're not listening in on your calls or arresting anyone for thought crimes. The fact that people care more about Verizon betraying your trust with your call logs than they do about this jackass betraying your country and then defecting to one of our rivals is sad.

Why do something when you can just talk (or argue) about it endlessly?

False.

This program did nothing to stop the Boston Bombings or Ft Hood.

The only justification was if it was effective, if it cant stop those attacks what good is it?

A report can say anything it wants to, just because a report says it could have stopped something doesnt make it true. If we didnt have the program for the Boston Bombings the report would have said that this program could have stopped it which it didnt.

The shots you are taking are:

1. Well deserved

2, Right on target

3. Exposing how much of a pussy you are

4. Exposing what a good little brown shirt you make

5. Not lame at all, but rather direct and hard hitting

In conclusion, the lameness of your response, like the lameness of your original cum-sucking post of acceptance shows once again what a pussy you are and how quick scum like you roll over, sell out and throw away your freedom like a scared little girl. You're disgusting.

P.S. I <3 eesh

National surveillance needed to find spies.

U.S. GOV'T CRITICIZED FOR HIRING FOREIGN HIGH-TECH SPIES

Washington, Sept. 25 (CNA) While American companies are lobbying Congress to allow them to hire more foreign high-tech workers to meet demand, an anti-immigration organization pointed out Monday that there is another, more frightening aspect to the problem, namely "the U.S. government hiring foreign high-tech spies." Federation for American Immigration Reform wrote in its September 2000 edition of "Immigration Report" that the U.S. government contracts out much of its sensitive defense and computer work to companies that hire Communist Chinese citizens to do their work. Over 250 mainland Chinese citizens now work at companies with defense contracts, such as Texas Instruments, Sun Microsystems, Raytheon, and Cisco Systems. Experts are worried about the potential for high-tech espionage. "It should be obvious that the Beijing government sponsors these professionals," national security expert Robert Maginnis was quoted as saying. "Why else would China permit highly educated, young, and motivated professionals to leave the country? The Communists understand that work at U.S. high-tech firms provides ready access to valuable information," he added. Al Santoli, a House aide and critic of the Clinton administration's China policies, concurred, claiming that "it's absolutely a national security disaster, and Congress has not been vigorous in its oversight responsibilities." Meanwhile, the federation noted that U.S. government experts have warned that Beijing has engaged in an aggressive modernization of its military, acquiring missile, satellite, and aircraft technologies through espionage. According to a bipartisan House commission headed by Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Cal.), China stole various classified U.S. technologies during the 1990s. "The PRC uses Chinese nationals hired by U.S. firms for that purpose," said the Cox report published in May 1999. The report added that the Clinton administration refused to let the commission make public the evidence due to national security concerns. (By Nelson Chung)

It's not just the workers. It's the chips inside out servers, routers, switches and worse, our weapons systems. We buy cheaper chips from the Chicoms, who embed backdoor command codes that allow them to scrape data. They worked with the Iranians to commander at least one Sentinel drones.

The Chicoms are thinking strategy for the next 5 or 6 decades while we're navel gazing worrying about the next 3 or 4 years. They let us spend $trillions designing, developing, testing and deploying advanced weapons. Then they pay some mid-level flunkie $10K and 4 months of a good time with a Chicom cutie to sell it all to them.

We could still stay ahead of them back when we were a patriotic and moral society. Now we're no better then they are and they're eating our lunch.

I said "IF." The same people who once said Obama won't be tough on terrorists are the same people who now question his drone strike policies. You don't give a shit about the issue, you just want your side to be correct.

What "bunch of gay jokes" are you referring to in my post? Do you see gay jokes in everything? I called you a pussy and scum, but not gay. I did say your post was "cum sucking" but not you. And it was one reference, not "a bunch". You're an idiot. And a pussy. And scum. Perhaps gay, but that was not included in my list.

I wouldn't be so mad at Obama if he had not have sold himself so falsely to the American people. He said he was going to stop these abuses and answer to a higher calling.

He is a fuckhead and a retard.

False.

The only problem people have with the drone strike program was the American kill list. Theres the argument we use drones to much losing out on intel but that has nothing to do with partisan politics.

False.

I speak in facts as have others. The left already has the dick comment and avoiding issues market cornered. The only possible way you could have come to that conclusion is to ignore the real responses and focus on the troll responses which doing exactly what you accuse others of, avoiding the issue
