So Did Creigh Deeds SHOOT His Own Son?
Posted by: WingNut ()

Initial reports are (attempted)murder-(successful)suicide.

It seems odd to me the old man was stuck, but the kid shot himself. Seems if the kid was in such a psycho state he would have shot his father before doing himself.

It's a huge tragedy, I hate the DNC but Deeds seemed like someone very different than the corrupt fucks who run DC today.

I can't imagine how bad this situation must feel, even worse if Deeds had to ultimately end his sons life to protect his own.

No BS I am sorry for him.

I highly doubt that. I agree with you, disagreed with the man highly but always found him to be a decent sort. And I've never heard anything to the contrary. He's a genuine guy - WYSIWIG as the old saying went.

Incidentally, I can't help but think he's a very unlucky guy. He lost to Bob McDonnell not once, but twice. In 2005 it was by an agonizingly close ~300 votes, then it was in the 59-41 landslide four years later. Then his wife left him a year or so later. Now this.

He's had more than his share of shit.

The report I heard was that Deeds left the house... went out somewhere to get help after being stabbed, called 911 and when the police arrived at the house, they heard a gunshot and found the son dead. Creigh wasn't home.... This is what I heard on the news... not sure how accurate, but if it is, doesn't sound like Creigh could have done it. It is hard to know what a disturbed young man was thinking.

Yeah, I just heard that Creighs cousin or someone found him on the road all fucked up from the stab wounds and took him to his house before the hospital.

That led me to think there was something more to the situation.

Well the story about him being sent home from the nut house eval because there were no psychiatric beds available is complete horseshit according to Dr Drew, and he knows everything.

More than likely the hospital said we gotta lock him up and family changed their mind.

Psssttt... So is Deeds.

Quote

RICHMOND--Democratic attorney general candidate Creigh Deeds was endorsed by the National Rifle Association yesterday.

Deeds, a state senator from rural Bath County, sponsored the amendment to the state's Constitution that protects the right to hunt and fish. His Republican opponent, Del. Bob McDonnell, did not support that amendment.

In a letter announcing its endorsement, the NRA singled out Deeds' support for hunting and fishing as one reason he got the endorsement, and praised his record on gun issues in general.

The NRA gave Deeds an A rating, and gave McDonnell--who has supported a number of pro-gun initiatives--an A-minus.
