Why do people from NOVA sound like they're from Philly?

I dont get why someone would grow up here and have a Philadelphia/Baltimorease accent. Its like someone from California having a Canadian accent. I meet a lot of people here and they say they're from the area, and I'm like "really?" Then why do you have an accent?

Um, maybe they were born some place else? I have met very few people who actually are natives in this area. If they're born here, their family is usually from some place else. Ive met more people native to India than to Fairfax.
