"In the most precipitous decline it has seen in more than a year, President Barack Obama's job approval rating has dropped 7 points in three days,"

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/gallup-obamas-job-approval-drops-7-points-3-days

The SS Obama is officially lost at sea.

I'm beginning to think Gallup is full of shit. Why are their poll results so radically opposed to just about everyone elses?

Hahah. Sometimes you should click on the linked article (in this case Gallup).

I don't see much of a precipitous drop.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

His job approval rating has been hovering between +/- 5% of 50% for the past 3 years. He had just gone up in one of Gallup polls to his 51% just last week. When your margin of error is 3 points and you are polling 1500 adults, you are not getting any sort of significant change here.

On the other hand, you can compare that to the public opinion of Congress...

True. In fact, the President's job approval rating has been between 49 - 51% all month. Just more GOP-tard spin.

You don't see the daily numbers cited because it's a rolling average and they've been collapsed into the average. You can see below that, for example, on 10/23 it was at 53 approve/42 disapprove.

You're talking about daily fluctuations based on a sample of 1500 people. Seven points over 3 days is not an avalanche of plummeting public opinion.

The original article is grasping at straws -- and preaching to people who are seeking self-comfirmation.

The truth is that 50% of the country is on one side, 50% is on the other -- give or take whatever slight swing percentage both parties have been fighting over for the past dozen years.

A 50% job approval rating is a coin toss. Its when you get down into the 20% range that Bush was in 2008 or the 20% that the Congress is in now when you start seeing some serious dissatisfaction.

I'm not talking about anything other than what the numbers were. The article appears to be correct as far as the numbers cite. You were laughing them off as not. 1500 is as valid of a sample or better than most all of the other polling done.

Now if you want to argue whether it's meaningful or not, then that's a separate discussion and I'd largely agree. Although it's not a particularly encouraging trend going into the final week of an election.

For the umpteenth time:

National early voting polls have no meaning.

President Obama will win OH, NV, WI, IA and, thereby, re-election.

Nothing else matters.

FYI: Gallup's Daily Presidential Job Approval rating is back up to 51%.

Why would Americans approve of such a shitty job?

Fire this bitch already.
