If you want tickets now, they're going to be way outrageously expensive.

They were $135 originally. That's already outrageous.

Your best bet for awesome live Blues or Jazz is to go to New Orleans Jazz Fest, last weekend of April and first weekend of May every year. BB King sometimes plays, but if you're into any form of Jazz, this is the festival to go to. It's the second biggest event in New Orleans, behind Mardi Gras (and might even be beyond Mardi Gras, by now, in crowd size.)

$55 a day ($50 ticket plus $5 roundtrip bus from the end of bourbon st to the fairgrounds) gets you 10 - 12 stages of music from 11 am to 7pm every day Thurs-Sun the first weekend, Wed - Sun the second weekend. (and if you like to smoke weed, there's plenty of it going around, most of it of the gourmet/designer quality, like where the guy selling it will have a selection of 6 or 7 strains to choose from)

I go with a group of friends from College, but not every year. I missed the last two years, but went in 2006. We usually rent a condo in the french quarter a few blocks off bourbon street, and party like crazy for 4 days straight. The last couple times, I've had to take a few days off after getting back just to recover enough to function.
