Questions about Women
Posted by: questioning questioner ()

there seems to be a lot of things we as men do not know about women.

little everyday things.

here are some I came up with:

1. do women shave their legs and armpits everyday?

2. doesn't that get tedious?

3. do women's restrooms have urinals?

4. do women have some kind of a 'pH' balance...like a plant?

5. does it smell?

6. what is 'retaining water'?

7. what is 'the change'?

8. what is a papsmear?

9. is washing your hair really something that takes all night?

10. how do you keep fresh?

11. do you all grow mustaches if your not careful?

12. how much does it bleed?

13. do you always wear a sanitary nampkin, like 24/7? is one always up there?

14. what is a diaphragm?

15. do you get turned on at the gynecolologist?

16. do you really have pillow fights?

17. I get cramps. how is that different from woman cramps?

18. what are hot flashes?

19. what does 'that not so fresh feeling' refer to? always thought they were talking about deodorant or something.

20. why do you like talking so much?

21. what's so great about shoes?

22. plucking eyebrows?

23. bloating?

24. seems like a LOT of upkeep and maintenance. glad I'm not a woman.

I think that guys pay for more because women are supposed to buy so many beauty supplies. Let's take moisturizers for example. I have three for my face (night/day/eyes), one for my body, one for my bikini line, one for my feet, another for my hands, yet another for my cuticles, three for my hair (conditioner, leave in conditioner, overnight treatment)... I can't even remember to use them all.

Moisturizer for your bikini line? That is sad. You must have frickin' SCALES down there. It almost sounds like an STD symptom!

It is more preventative than curative. The bikini line lotion helps prevents bumps on sensitive skin, the facial moisturizers prevent wrinkles, etc. On any given day, I only use 2 or 3 of the moisturizers... I'm not particularly dedicated.

Answering for the hell of it.

1. do women shave their legs and armpits everyday?
Mostly, but not always

2. doesn't that get tedious?
Yes

3. do women's restrooms have urinals?
No

4. do women have some kind of a 'pH' balance...like a plant? Yes --
http://www.womentowomen.com/digestionandgihealth/phbalance.aspx

4. does it smell?
If you don’t wash

5. what is 'retaining water'? (yeah, I copied and pasted)
Water retention is usually due to your body not getting enough water and it is generally stored in the muscles. Think of it this way: your body stores fat if it doesn't get enough, and so the same goes for water. Now the salt thing I've just looked into and it is a little complex, so I'm gonna paste what I found:

Our bodies rely on electrolytes, most significantly sodium and potassium, to carry the electrical impulses that control our bodily functions. In order for our bodies to function properly, it is important that the concentration of electrolytes in our bodies remain constant.

A high concentration of electrolytes in our blood triggers our thirst mechanism, causing us to consume adequate amounts of water to return to the proper concentration of electrolytes. This is one of the reasons bars provide free salty snacks like pretzels and peanuts. The salt causes us to become thirsty and purchase more drinks.

When we consume an adequate amount of water, our kidneys are able to keep the concentration of electrolytes in our blood constant by increasing or decreasing the amount of water we retain. The result of our retaining more or less water in our bloodstream can also affect our blood pressure.

The water moves beyond our bloodstream, too. Through the process of osmosis, water flows from a lower salinity environment to a higher one in an attempt to balance the levels of salinity. After we consume large amounts of salt, it is the water moving from our bloodstream into our skin that gives us that "puffy" look and makes it hard to get our rings off. Then, when we consume lesser amounts of salt, the same process works in reverse to remove the excess water from our bodies.

6. what is 'the change'?
Menopause

7. what is a papsmear?
A Pap smear is a screening technique. It is used to detect cervical cancer or cervical abnormalities that might become cancer in women

8. is washing your hair really something that takes all night?
If she doesn’t want to go out with you

10. how do you keep fresh?
Shower / Bath / Soap – duh / Douche

11. do you all grow mustaches if your not careful?
Not all women

12. how much does it bleed?
I’ve never known ANY man who EVER wanted to know the answer to this! Lets just say, it’s different for all women. It can be a lot. Most females have a period that can last from a couple of days to a week. Mostly a week.

13. do you always wear a sanitary nampkin, like 24/7? is one always up there?
She has 2 choices. Sanitary napkin is now called a Pad / or a Tampax/tampon. A pad sticks into the crotch of the underwear, a tampon does go “up there”. Whatever the woman’s choice – pad or tampon, as long as she is having her period, she will use either. Not the same one through out. She will change these to a new one several times.

14. what is a diaphragm?
A Diaphragm is a small shallow silicone cup inserted into the vagina to prevent pregnancy

15. do you get turned on at the gynecolologist?
NO

16. do you really have pillow fights?
When a pre-teen, maybe

17. I get cramps. how is that different from woman cramps?
Menstrual cramps are pains in the belly and pelvic areas that are experienced by a woman as a result of her menstrual period. Menstrual cramps are not the same as the discomfort felt during premenstrual syndrome (PMS), although the symptoms of both disorders can sometimes be experienced as a continual process. Many women suffer from both PMS and menstrual cramps.
Menstrual cramps can range from mild to quite severe. Mild menstrual cramps may be barely noticeable and sometimes felt just as a sense of light heaviness in the belly. Severe menstrual cramps can be so painful that they interfere with a woman's regular activities for several days. “I refer to it as my ass falling out.”

18. what are hot flashes?
Hot flashes, experienced by large numbers of women and some men as a result of surgical, chemical, or age-in duced changes in estrogen levels, are characterized by a rapid rise and discharge of heat with perspiration, discomfort, and possible redness. Ranging from mild to severe in intensity, they may be preceded by an "aura-like" experience, and may be followed by a subsequent feeling of chill. With natural age-related menopause, hot flashes may begin as early as two years prior to the cessation of menapause and continue as long as five or more years afterward. Statistically, the average experience is approximately four years of hot flashes of varying intensities.

19. what does 'that not so fresh feeling' refer to? always thought they were talking about deodorant or something.
The commercials are talking about using a douche in the shower, so there is no odor “down there”. (A cleansing of the vagina)

20. why do you like talking so much?
I don’t know. I’m not one that does. Not all women do.

21. what's so great about shoes?
A huge variety, an accessory, all different colors and styles. Shoes can tell you a lot about a woman, who she is, what she likes and what she does.

22. plucking eyebrows?
Eyebrows are plucked to keep them neat and tidy. Some men pluck too.

23. bloating?
caused by water retention, it is a very common premenstrual sign.
