Health insurers have to give back 1.2 bn dollars

The new federal health insurance law limits how much they can charge beyond what's needed to cover medical expenses. No more than 20 percent of your premium can go to overhead costs and profit.

The health insurance premium rebates may be as much as $517 per person.

Unless you buy insurance on your own, your employer is probably getting about 75% of the rebate.

Obama is such a jerkoff for trying to keep health insurance companies from fleecing us.

Get real. They cut a deal with the insurance cos to make the AHCA work. They make a few concessions and get millions of guaranteed paying customers in return and still can raise prices in accordance with costs. They cut a similar deal with drug companies to guarantee their profits. Meanwhile, they did nothing to actually deal with health care costs that still are spiraling out of control.

Hmmmm.. Is it just me or is there a HUGE loophole here? What happens when the insurance companies buy up some of the hospitals? They can "charge" enough to make sure there's never any excess to give back.

Let the acquisitions begin!
