Damn you 2001 Daewoo Lanos
Posted by: Gordorski ()

I just had to get my Daewoo Lanos jumpstarted again, and the transmission is slipping. I'm upset angry havingB2B traded in a loaded Toyota Corolla for this car. I have added fat handles to the doors, and was wondering should I fix this car or sell it? What's it worth?

Don't make my mistake. I used to have a Lanos. What a sweet ride that was. Couldn't beat the honeys off with a stick. Guy offered me a good deal, and I sold her.

Sure, things would fall off from time to time, and she didn't start -every- day, but it's nothing a few hundred here and there can't fix.

Your Lanos says something about you. Take pride in it.

Duct tape that bitch, and get 'er back on the road.

Duct tape a beautiful car like the Lanos, that's ludicrous and an insult for a luxury car. This isn't a Daihatsu or Isuzu, this car is a gem appearance wise. I hope that if either the transmission is fixed or I have to sell it, I can make out okay and it won't be a shifty experience.

Enrico an astute observation and sadly one that could happen. Thank heavens for stacks of newspapers.

Stabitha I'm sorry but I am not aware of what angel eyes are, but find it hard to believe any accessory could make this cream puff look better. Appearance wise its immaculate.

They were crummy cars from Korea in the late 90's early 2000's. If I'm not mistaken, Chevrolet bought what was left of this company.

Ummmmmmmmmm, if my screen name is "1972 Ford GranTorinoSport 429SCJ"? then, yeah...I'm not really interested in knowing what a Daewoo is. THAT'S why that's funny.

See, a guy that daily drives a 41 year old, Ford big-block...could give ZERO fucks about an Oriental shitbox...

I thought you said you lived in an abusive environment? Can't be all that bad if your caretakers bought you a new stove. It's probably an LG or Samsung, right?

Hey buddy

I am so very excited about this car. I missed out big time on the last car, but i feel like this is my chance to cash in. you mentioned car troubles.. it seems you aren't ready for this sweet daewoo and all the trouble that comes with it. if you can share some pics, a price, and answer a variety of questions I would be quite interested in your Daewoo vehicle.

Please post a picture with your username on a piece of paper in the dashboard with the current mileage showing (no tricks with the tripodometer buster!!). also need the same in front of the car.

----thanks in advance

I don't like my Lanos being referred to as a Oriental shit box as I'm not Chinese. This car does have a certain aroma but clean newspapers on the seats, prevent most accidents. The car aside from its brown paint looks good, and its going to the repair shop after work. Once the transmission fixed, a relatively minor issue, my sweet car will be back to looking sharp and driving like a thoroughbred.

I'm sorry but this magnificent car is going to be repaired, and back to blowing away Camaros and Mustangs soon enough.

They also make/made guns.

They don't make guns I'd bet my burning bowels of this. Does Mercedes or BMW make firearms or other things? Nope, Daewoo makes luxury cars known for their speed, performance, and luxury. They are hard to find, rare!

If Daewoo made a gun, I would be afraid to fire it. It would probably kill the shooter, not hit the target.

Daewoo does in fact make some fine firearms. They are designed not to fire after being abandoned by S. Korean troops running away from the Chinese.

If you say you had to get jump started and then your transmission was slipping, it could be that the voltage is too low or not stable enough. Automatic transmissions that are electronically controlled (good bet even a Daewoo has an electronic transmission in 2001) are very sensitive to battery voltage, and the solenoids may not work properly at low voltage. You could have a bad alternator, or just a very bad battery.

Thank you ragin mechanic, as you must also work on high end cars also. The Lanos was originally diagnosed with that, but after further tests, I was given bad news. Total transmission replacement. There goes $3000 dollars.

Stabitha that would be fine in the country side, but do you honestly think two shitting on the streets, would be a bit much? Those buckets only work so well, and I can't wait to have my sweet car back, turning heads and generating excitement.
