I was going to respond to the other thread regarding Meade, but decided on a new topic.

After all the posts I've seen by him on this and other message boards (oh, the damage he did on the now-defunct sevenzerothree.com...), I still can't tell if he in the genuine article, or if this is the most elaborate fake persona ever devised.

It sounds like something I would write and do if I woke up one day and decided, "I'm going to create a fake identity for myself. I'm going to be an overly sugary-sweet conservative folk musician who is an exaggeration of all things Southern."

The songs about sweet tea, the Nicole Kidman fetish, the videos... It strikes me as too over-the-top to be real. Would someone as genteel as he is really hang around on message boards, posting the same saccharin shit over and over again, completely oblivious to the hostile reception?

If you're a serious musician, and really want people to like you and your music, You post a thread saying, "Hi, this is my music," and if people don't like it, it eventually gets buried and forgotten. You leave and move on if you get a cold or even lukewarm reception. Meade, though, tends to find a board and dominate it, being the center of discussion as people verbally abuse him mercilessly. The more he gets trashed, the more ammunition he offers his detractors.

Pretty soon, everyone's talking about him, even making jokes about him long after he's left. People that would have otherwise never heard the name "Meade Skelton" will now be inclined to look him up, browse the old threads, etc. I'm not saying that this is a good idea or a sound business tactic; what I am saying is, for better or for worse, people will know who Meade Skelton is.

Based on all my internets experience, I find it easier to believe that this guy sits around smoking doobies and laughing at people who think he's real. If I were him, and I had the desire, I would keep up the facade for a couple of years, and then do something drastic. All of those people who "follow" what's going on with him would be saying, "Holy shit, Meade decided to become a satanist and join a death metal band!"

Or maybe I'm reading too much into it, and he really is an idiot.

After all, I am not attempting to cover up for something posted on the public portion of the board through PMs. That is a masterful manipulation of the public persona. Not Everyone Is Perfect...
I'm a fellow with many flaws. I know most people can't tell it by the way I look, but its true! I really feel so bad if I offend people with what I say or do some times, because thats not my intention. People are getting very easily offended these days- and for the wrong reasons. People may misinterpret something as "High and Mighty", when actually its simply a personal choice.

Three maybe four or five. If he (you) doesn't get the hint by then I will move on.

And no I am not obsessed. I just figured if the two of them (YOU being one of them) got together - you could have some fun and leave the rest of us alone.

I think Meade is really being himself and truly believes all the stuff he says, but I also believe he has some real mental issues (maybe mild autism, or something like that), which is why I don't goof on him anymore.

He clearly takes his music seriously and for every 10 people that hate it, there is probably 1 or 2 people that relate to it.

I don't care much for his songs myself, but I've actually watched a lot of his videos, just out of curiosity, to understand his psychology and form some type of psychiatric diagnosis of whatever it is that ails him.

I'm sure many others here do the same thing.

I think Meade suffers from internet-itis. I dont understand when people say he has no talent, though. He can obviously play the piano, and hes a decent singer. I like his song about sweet tea. The rest I can take it or leave it.

Meade makes very good music and its has a sense of humour. Many people are jealous of him. He is very good looking too .

I think you are confused. Let's just set the record straight:

1. Meade's music actually isn't very good
2. The lyrics aren't funny, they are pathetic
3. The only person that is jealous of Meade lost his sight, hearing, and all four limbs
4. Meade is not attractive, although he pulls off creepy quite well

1.Its no worse than most stuff you hear on the radio everyday. In fact a little better... Most of his songs are pretty catchy.

4.Meade is right attractive. He has a nice soft face , almost pretty, and its not too harsh or rough looking. That is rare for a man.

I surely do hope there is some trailertrash gal out there who thinks Meade is so great. Otherwise it sounds to me like Meade is truly the bizzaro wierdo he comes off as by talking in the third person about how great he looks. Then again maybe Meade is one of us looser regs who frequently post here and this is just his Comedic "Style".

But I do agree that he has soft features. Infact, I wouldn't mind having him as my cellmate if I had to do a long bit in the pen.
