god damn...what a piece of shit documentary. since the inception of this country immigrants came here to escape the violence in their home countries...and to seek opportunity. this piece of shit documentary would lead you to beleive there are 12 million people here just waiting to rise up and revolt...what garbage..they want what every immigrant who ever came here want...peace and opportunity!

Just imagine with a stroke of the pen we could have 12 million new income tax paying...hard working persons. and if some of them think they are going to rise up and revolt....well, let the arrest of the white supremist US citizens be a lesson to them.

Not to bring slavery into this discussion, but it is on the same level of issue that the country faced before the Civil War. You had a balance in the country that was put in place by the founders, with slave states and free states. They tried for years to admit one of each when new states were admitted to keep the balance in Congress so no one side could tip the balance for or against slavery, other than the status quo. Then you had the admission of more free territories and states, and the balance shifted.

In a way (small but there) this is going to have the same kind of effect on folks. They don't mind if immigrants want to come here and work, but they don't want them to become immediate citizens, eligible to vote. 12 million votes suddenly added to the tally would be destabilizing, let alone divisive. And these folks do not necessarily share the culture and love for America that the rest of us do (even you Vince). All you have to do is take a look at France, and many European countries now having problems with large migrant populations. And while you may not want to admit it Vince, hispanics have imported their own gangs into our country, and they are not adding to our culture. Ask the kid that got his hands cut-off by MS13 kids and young adults (and there have been many instances of this kind of violence).

I have no problem with hispanics that come here and want to work, and become part of the process - but we have to do a little weeding of the bad elements, we can't just accept them all at face value.

I think it's a little naive to think that every single US citizen pays income tax.

I think the term used in the McCain-Kennedy Immigration bill was...road to citizenship...that is the process that could be instited by the stroke of the pen.

And of course I know there are hispanic gangs...every immigrant society had gangs..except the czechs..which is my back ground (just kidding). And no I wouldnt grant citizenship to anyone convicted of violent crime prior to becoming a citizen.

As far as European problems with immigration...we not them are the models for dealing with multi-cultural citizenry..not them...this is one issue I do not look to them for guidance (in general).

True...not every single US citizen will pay income taxes...I am naive.

and immigrant societies exist because of influx and group anti-assimilation mentality. to prevent these a lesser amount of immigrants would prevent any surge of gangs and will make them assimilate and at least learn some basic english. this system exists and illegal aliens are selfishly ignoring our immigration laws, making them all criminals.

it's the anti-assimilation that bothers me the most, specifically when i cant even communicate with them. as the saying goes, "When in Rome do what the Romans do."

I will say, in defense of illegal immigrants, that they are not all gang-banging welfare leeches. They're the ones that waded through the muddy shit water during the cleanup of New Orleans, because nobody else would do it for so little pay.

However, that doesn't excuse the countless millions who are gang-banging welfare leeches.
