It also should be noted that this story was posted by Matt Drudge before any of the local Pittsburgh stations picked up on it. Amazing how the Drudge Report knows about a random street mugging in Pittsburgh before the locals do.

What do we know

a) the mugger took her money and instead of fleeing, looked at her car to see what bumper sticker she had. Most muggers get the cash and leave - leave very quickly. They have a distinct motivation to leave don't they?

b) the mugger carved a pretty good B on her face, albeit backwards. Natural human inclination would be for the victim to raise her arms or at least squirm. Remember to carve a B you knife, nails or other sharp object needs to leave the skin and re-enter at least twice.

c) she refused medical treatment right away. If true, she is an idiot. A stranger sticks a dirty saomething in your face, you would want medical attention right away. Why isnt she worried about the dirty knife?

e) she is affilliated with the McCain campaign.

f) it was 9:00 pm and dark yet the mugger still saw the bumper sticker and was able to carve a pretty good B. The carvings took place outside the view of security cameras.

She now told police it may have been a McCain button she was wearing, so I guess they asked the same question. Concerning the photograph, perhaps the police had not photographed her yet wet the first photo made drudge.

The woman is obviously lying. I actually feel kind of bad for her. She reminds me of the kind of person who probably doesn't have many friends. She probably needs some counseling.

Where did you see that named as the motive? As of this morning I thought I saw on TV that the police were saying it was a robbery and she wasn't singled out, but if you have another source into this story please post a link so we can read up on it.
