Problem with Ghosts 'N Goblins

Have problem with Ghosts & Goblins. Cannot get past first level. This means game over. Caretaker wipe my ass with hook while fighting level 1 boss. This means I die. Get hit by zombie and all armor falls off. This means naked. Get hit again and die. This means game over. So upset over level 1 that bowels exploded all over Toyota Tercel. This means shit. Need help to beat level 1. This means Konami code.

You should play Monster Party... You can fight dead spiders and shrimp tempura (fried food)..

I hated that game. You get all the way through it just to find out you need to go through it again to get the secret weapon that will actually kill the end boss.
