McCain's Brother Calls No. Virginia 'Communist Country'

Speaking at an event in Loudoun County (web|news) in support of his brother, Joe McCain called two Democratic-leaning areas in Northern Virginia "communist country," according to a report on The Washington Post's Web site. Joe McCain, a Navy veteran, said: "I've lived here for at least 10 years and before that about every third duty I was in either Arlington or Alexandria (web|news), up in communist country."

I've been calling it the Socialist Republic of Northern Virginia for
years. Arlington is a mess. Alexandria too. Fairfax isnt far behind.

For starters, how about government (local) mandated political correctness,
(attempted) taxpayer funded health care for "partners" of fags and
dykes, and, local government attempts to restrict 2nd Amendment
rights. BTW, I will include illegal immigration because Arlington just
cant seem to get enough of them. Alexandria cant either, and ConMan
says "We dont have a problem" You can rant all you want about it being
a "Federal problem" but that a bunch of crap. PW County is doing a
great job of purging themselves of the problem, but Arlington, Alexandria,
and Fairfax just sit on their dead asses and ignore the problem.

Hey dummy, Communist countries repressed homo's and didn't allow citizens to own guns. They were also super-strict about illegal immigration.
It's totally stupid to call NoVA "communist"... we have more private businesses concentrated here than almost anywhere else in the nation. Arlington is bad? LOL, go live in some small rust-belt town, see how much better they have it.

NOVA does have a disconcerting proportion of police to civilians, a proliferation of police agencies, and a relatively large number of local codes and regulations, but "Communist Country" is a big stretch.

What's funny is that Fairfax County is roughly a majority republican county.
I guess the confusion stems from the fact that the current "Republican" administration is riddled with straussian neocons, who have their origins in a trotskyite liberal ideology.
Real republicans are not reformed liberals, but after 8 years of the current administration and being bombarded with the globalist/neocon message on Fox News, a lot of sycophants and ideologues might be confused and unable to differentiate where people sit on the political continuum.
Bethesda would more match an ideologue's definition of "communist" since it is predominantly democrat and even more towards the liberal end of the democrat side of the continuum. At least, that used to be the way the extreme right-wingers defined "commie america haters".
I guess everything changed after 9/11. Isn't that another one of the mantras?
