There are rumors around the Beltway that if Obama is elected,
he will name an old friend of his as SOD:

If McCain is elected he'll probably pull another Palin ....

"Hey John, there's this guy out in Wyoming that would make a great Defense Secretary, he's been a town council member for 4 years and runs a heckuva program!"

There are rumors around the beltway that John McCain will pick Hillarly clinton as SOD.

Dont believe me? I am around the beltway and I just said it. You read, so it is a rumor now.

Odds are he/Obama will keep the current SOD...at least until they seperate on the big issue...when to get our troops out of Iraq (assuming Gates has a different view).

Obama or McCain?

I can see Obama keeping gates more than I can see McCain doing so.

I could almost see McCain bringing Rumsfeld back, even though I think he personally hates him. If McCain wins, he's going to owe a lot to the neoconservatives who did whatever was necessary to reverse McCain's standings in the last 30 days. They're going to want to take over the cabinet selection process, for starters.
