Those Parrothead License Plates......
Posted by: eesh ()

Heard from someone that knows someone that knows someone.......there is another group of people that use those Parrothead license plates, and they aren't Jimmy Buffett fans.

The Poly Parrot is one of many symbols that people that practice Polyamory use.

Polyamory is a more serious form of swinging, with people having primary, secondary, tertiary relationships, etc. Basically people with open marriages that have interconnecting relationships with other married couples. It's considered an entire subculture and not just extramarital affairs.

Getting back to the Buffett license plates, it is one of the ways this subculture identifies each other.

Parrotheads like to be thought of as non conformist. Meanwhile they drive to their 9-5 government job in an SUV and at night take the kids to soccer practice with those awful stick figure people on the rear window to let the world know how many kids and animals they have.

I've noticed a bunch of cars parked outside the South Riding Inn have the parrothead license plates.

Also look for white landscaping gravel. If it's near the backdoor...well, you know the rest. Also look for a swing hanging from a tree in the yard of a house where no kids live.

I've always felt that those stick figures were an invitation to pervs to come abduct and molest their kids.

Good question, apparently if DMV gets enough signature requests, they approve plates for just about anything; which is why there are Virginia plates dedicated to locomotives and credit unions.

These plates that recognize a group or organization are a GOLD MINE for the state. If you can get the signatures and want to spend the money on the plate, I have no problem with that. Kiddie Butt-Fuckers? The Klan? Dogfighting leagues? Check...check...and check. If your money's green, I got no beef.

Where does the money go for these special plates? Don't say Virginia schools. I am hit up more and more each year for supplies and school field trips. I want an audit!

Generally, each special plate carries an annual fee. For the parrothead plates, the fee is $10 and goes directly to the DMV. Many of the more charitable causes qualify for a revenue-sharing scheme, where the annual fee is raised to $25. In this case, $15 would go directly to the cause and the DMV would keep the remaining $10.
