Cold for Sale
Posted by: Lurker. ()

I recently got a cold and realize now I don't want it. I've had the cold for about two days so it's practically brand new. Great syptoms, running nose, slight cough, a couple of sneezes every now and then. I hate to see it go, but it's just taking up too much of my time care to for.

Best offer or I'm willing to give it away to the right person.

(Please no trades)

I'll take $50 to take it off your hands.

I have a solid immune system, I should be able to kill the damn thing in a day.

I know people say it doesn't work, but it always works for me... load up on echinacea, zinc and C pills (one pill each 3 times a day), and drink lots of either Yogi Tea or Traditional Medicinals teas (I usually steep 3 or 4 different ones, like "breathe deep", "detox", "gypsy cold care", "echinacea/elderberry" or whatever in each cup of hot water, and let it steep for 20 minutes, then load it up with honey or sugar and maybe a squirt or two of "RealLemon" because it has a strong flavor, not bad, but strong.) You can usually find them in the "natural foods" aisle at Giant, if they aren't by the coffees and teas. (if you have any allergies, make sure you read the ingredients, there's a boat load of herbs in all of these teas.)

Then just drink lots of OJ and Water throughout the day, to flush out all the stuff your immune system is killing off.

I've found taking cough medicines with dextramethorphan actually makes it harder to fight the cold. Only take them if your cough is completely unbearable.

Thanks Bob that is a great offer. Unfortunately I lost the cold some how.
Not sure how it happened. I turned around it was gone.

Interesting to hear your cures. I have also found that eating a lot of crazy stuff and warm liquids seem to help. I did take some vitamin C. Exercising seems to also help for some reason.

I usually just eat a plate of ribs and a block of cheese and colds vanish within hours. Be sure to wash it down with a bottle of grape ripple.

I prefer a big bowl of homemade chicken soup washed down with 2 or 3 hoppy & fizzy indian pale ales. Preferably Bear Republic's Racer 5 IPA.

Bitter, malty ale washing down that warm broth really does make you feel better.

Yes, when I was younger, a 12 pack of beer and a good night's sleep was enough to kill any cold.

If I tried that nowadays, I'd be bedridden for at least a day between the cold and the hangover.

Alcohol is probably the best disinfectant for cold germs.

Wow... it's like you don't even understand the difference between a cold and the flu.

A cold is not a virus. The Flu is a virus. Colds are usually bacterial in nature.

Common Cold
Definition
The common cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory system, including the nose, throat, sinuses, eustachian tubes, trachea, larynx, and bronchial tubes. Although more than 200 different viruses can cause a cold, 30-50% are caused by a group known as rhinoviruses. Almost all colds clear up in less than two weeks without complications.

Description
Colds, sometimes called rhinovirus or coronavirus infections, are the most common illness to strike any part of the body. It is estimated that the average person has more than 50 colds during a lifetime. Anyone can get a cold, although pre-school and grade school children catch them more frequently than adolescents and adults. Repeated exposure to viruses causing colds creates partial immunity.

I forgot to call you out on exaggerating about my typing.

I actually use the standard asdf ;lkj home key typing method. So I have to wash both hands completely after typing a post.
