Looks like we our escalating are efforts in Pakistan. So now we have invaded Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan,maybe Georgia and Iran.

If we don't like a government then just bomb them and take over their country, didn't Hitler do the same thing?

I can't imagine why Al Qaeda and the Taliban are now growing at an alarming rate!

This is border region action and isn't new... I didn't think there was much dispute at all among Dems and Reps that action in that region is proper and should be continued. Drones have been flying there, reaching out and touching teh ev|ld03rez for a while now.

Im sure you could find him saying something like that...but lets be honest..the likes of you have howled loudest on his calls for direct dilpomacy with Iran. I think the correct term to desribe his policy for Iran is the use of carrots and sticks. I know you probaly arent accustomed to nuance being associated with foreign policy...but thats what intelligent leaders use..they dont just invade first and ask questions later.

Yes, and Bill Clinton didn't blow up a pharmaceutical factory (killing a lot of civilians), or wait, drop a lot of bombs in the Kosovo/Serbia conflict... Oh wait.. he did do that didn't he.

He didn't have a UN mandate for either of those, and I believe in the case of the factory the US had to pay $50M in damages...

For example, you hear that dozens of innocent civilians and children die, when actually key members of the enemy die. Are you talking about the UN mandate based on Powell's overwhelmingly discredited WMD speech? Get real! I'll take Clinton foreign policy any day. The last 7 years have been nothing but Bush ignoring his general's advice and when they refuse to placate him he replaces them with officers who will give in!

No, we were talking about the US firing missiles into Pakistan and somehow that was a bad thing. I was just pointing out Clinton using similar logic.

But this is not the first time we have done it. The precedent for these attacks was probably even set before Clinton did it.

I'll agree that this country ha been on a long road to imperialism...however that said..the current administration raised all bars used to measure such movement to new unheard of levels.

this isnt specifically for killing osama bin laden, it's to stop jerks from running in and out of afganistan. if you hadnt noticed, Afghanistan's border with pakistan has been been a doorway between fighting and safe haven. for years Musharraf has insisted we stay out so they will take care of it but in truth little has been done. with the recent media "we are losing in afganistan" stuff there has obviously been increasing pressure to do something and since Musharraf has been ousted there isnt much holding us back.

actually, no they dont. if you read the report you would have noticed we sent in predator drones. you should learn about these things, they are really impressive because of their efficiency and accuracy. there are various yields of missiles specifically to avoid civilian casualties and minimize collateral damage.
