The funny thing is that the Hillary campaign was posting "he's a Muslim!" fear mongering posts here all throughout the Potomac Primaries. He needs to look to the Hillary camp for blame, they produced all the talking points.

Why doesn't he just come out and say these exact words, "I am NOT a muslim!"
I've heard him talk about his christian faith and his former church, but I wish he'd put an end to all this by saying those 5 simple words.

If it turns out he IS a muslim, he's cooked. Might as well clear the air now, rather than later.

Welcome to 7 months ago.

Obama has said many times he is a Christian and has been one for many years.

Not the same as saying he is not now and never was a muslim.

He can't say he was NEVER a muslim. It would be a lie. I believe his sincerity when he states he is a Christian now, however when he was enrolled in Catholic school in Indonesia documents show he registered as a Muslim.

Sarah Palin took $233 million in taxpayer dollars for the Bridge to Nowhere. She didn't build the bridge and she didn't give the money back. Tell Sarah to "Give Back the MONEY!"

Yeah, I think we got the picture when you created a whole thread devoted to that same idea. You seemed panicked this morning posting the same statements in multiple threads. Too much coffee or panic over the Obama campaign.

I'm not panicked. I am offended by her taking my tax dollars and then claiming she didn't want the bridge. I want my money back!

$233M? What's your share? There are a 117 million taxpayers in the United States. There are also other sources of revenues bedides federal income tax. At MOST, your share is about a fin. Send me your address, and I will be happy to send you the five bucks if you need it that bad. The money was used on other projects. Quite honestly, I would rather see money diverted to projects that can be completed rather than some crap. I wish every governor had the power to shift the money around as they see fit in their home state. I agree Palin is going into the earmark argument with unclean hands, but whining about the bridge to nowhere is a bit hypocritical for Obama when he requested cash for his wife's employer where she serves as a VP making over $250K?

In 2002 it was projected that about 47% of revenues in 2006 would be from individual income taxes. In 2007 there were 139.3 million returns filed (not 117).

So using these rough numbers that mix years a little but should all be in the same ballpark, $233M / 139.3M returns = $1.67 per filed return. 47% of that is 78 and a half cents. Every taxpayer had less than a buck in it.

How about someone here give him a whole dollar, which will give him a 28% return on his investment? Maybe with that he'll go away and not come back until he provides some research into things that are easily quantifiable. I mean, to even use the plural and say "my tax dollars" was incorrect... it wasn't even his "tax dollar."

Thanks for the correction, I was going off of '06 numbers. He is always talking about how well off he is and how he will retire early, etc. so I didn't want to insult his delicate sensibilities by only assuming he would be the "average" taxpayer. A man as smart and good with money as he is certainly has to be in the top 1%. Either way, $5 is money well spent if he will simply go away.

They can put it toward the $10 Trillion deficit the Republicans have run up.

lol I didn't really mean it as a correction. I was glad to see someone actually take the time to look up numbers! It's easy to shout simple things like "Give me my money"... quite a different thing to actually look up the numbers to see what one is REALLY asking for. In this case it was under a dollar and it ended up being pretty funny.

I don't even take a position on the candidates... I just like to see some research involved in the arguments and thus far on both sides it has been lacking here. Then again, this is Fairfax Underground, not Politico.
