McCain Vetting Team in Alaska...Now. After the Announcement
Date: August 31, 2008 10:08PM

This blogger seems to be digging up pretty good information on Palin. According to him, McCain has sent eight representatives to vet Palin...after the fact...

If this is really happening, it sounds like the shit has hit the fan within the McCain campaign.

He chose someone that he never worked with and only met a few times (mostly by phone). What would you expect?

I would have expected his staff to look into it. It's not like they didn't have since February to do it.

What I really like is that the special prosecutor working on the Trooper-gate case in Alaska has started a tip line and has asked Alaskans to call-in tips about Palin being unethical. I can't wait until those recordings start hitting the Internet.

Good leaders know how to attract and manage talent. I'm pretty convinced right now that this is not John McCain's forté.

WashingToneLocian,

Let me add this, so I can come back as you, and agree with myself.

John McCain is too old to understand the concept of talent.
His followers are all poor white trash tailor park rednecks who should be exterminated. And, McCain’s prisoner of war nonsense is just that. Who cares, anyway, that war was unjust and the Americans should have been spit upon.

There, I feel better now. WashingToneLocian, what would I do without you? I love you.

Alias, stop this now. Do you hear me? Do you? Do you? TheMeeper is right. You are a psychotic nut case. Cary doesn't like you, do you hear me. CARY DOESN'T LIKE YOU. NOBODY LIKES YOU.

I measure a man's success by how high he jumps, so why don't you jump? Start jumping, Alias, or it's all over for you, chief amigo.

DO YOU HEAR ME NOW????????

Maybe McCain should have hired Cookie Monster for his vetting team...

What I don't get is Carly Fiorina was on the vetting team... if McCain was going to go with a woman (for the sake of having a woman on the ticket if that was the reason), why not her?

Do you remember what happened with Carly Fiorina when she was at HP? Lots of nasty stuff.

But, yeah, she would be infinitely better than Palin.

Ha. I like the way they kept the drive thru window.

I wonder if the place still reeks like chicken being deep-fried?

Actually, the drive through window is pretty commonplace in local government buildings. I used to live in Prince William and the county building there had one. It was nice because you could drive up and get your new county stickers, etc. I doubt with online automation nowadays, there is much use for it though. 15 years ago, it beat having to trudge into the building. Besides, our own Fairfax government center is widely derided as a massive PoS.

Andrew Halcro is an independent that lost in the Alaska Election to Sarah Palin. To say that his opinion, or his blog might be biased is an understatement. If you go back and read through his posts, he has tended to be wrong on many issues he went on about prior to the election. So to suddenly think that he is the font of wisdom on anything Sarah Palin other than losing to her is laughable. Like he doesn't have an axe to grind and would love to do what he could to derail her.

If you follow the news after all these posts he made, you would have seen where they have covered the vetting process, and the fact that she was on the list as of 6 months ago. The fact that any of McCain's folks might be following up now makes sense since she was more of a long shot pick even in his book. She was researched and vetted by his staff, and they offered pros and cons on all the candidates. The fact that he DIDN'T choose Lieberman, Pawlenty or any of the other choices the media was putting forth is really what this all is about. They are mad that they weren't consulted, and so now they (and their blogheads) are out pushing as much disinformation and bad information as possible so that people that are followers (and that includes many of the reactionary posters here) will repeat the lies and hopefully make some of it stick.

It works well for them in taking the heat off the fact that Obama has even less experience than Sarah Palin does - although every time they say experience should be off the table now, they point out how little she has. All of this pointing right back at the fact that Obama is just as limited. It would be interesting to see the liberal media spend as much time digging up info on Obama as they have on Sarah Palin.

All viewpoints are biased. Even 'raw fact' is biased. It's part of the human condition.

I think you meant "forte," pronounced "fort," or fhor."

There is a lot of confussion from the french, meaning "strength," and the Italian or Latin, meaning "loud."

Forte means 'loud' in French too. And while FUNdamental is right that the strictly correct pronunciation is with one syllable, nobody will understand what you mean and you will sound like a pedant if you explain it.

I, for one, feel better informed as to the word usage.

And now that I know the proper, french usage, I will avoid using it at all costs... I don't want to sound like some frenchie.
