First Obama said there are 57 states, now this....

If this man wants to be President, perhaps a geography lesson might be in order. And they say McCain is senile?!?

Obama from a home in Kansas City: I'm 'here in St. Louis'

By Chad Livengood

DENVER — Last week, Republican John McCain didn't know how many homes he owns.

Tonight, Democrat Barack Obama didn't know what town he was in.

In a live satellite speech tonight to the Democratic National Convention in Denver from a home in Kansas City, Obama said: "I'm here with the Girardo family here in St. Louis."

Then came a graphic across the television screen that said Obama was in Kansas City, Mo.

Then 7-year-old Sasha Obama asked: "Daddy, what city are you in?"

"I'm in Kansas City, sweetie," Obama said, correcting his earlier geographic reference.

Obama was at the home in Kansas City tonight to watch his wife Michelle's keynote address, according to his campaign.

Obama is hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday at the American Airlines facility in Kansas City.

Unlike you, who sits on his ass in the same place everyday, Obama has been to so many cities in such a short amount of time that it makes sense he would forget what city he is in.

Is this really the best you guys can come up with? Go make thousands of speeches over the course of a year, travel incessantly, deprive yourself of sleep, and see how many little slip ups you make. You probably do it all the time as it is, only there isn't a national media watching your every word waiting to point it out.

When he made the 57 state comment, he started to say 50 states then backed up to 47 but mispoke. Big fucking deal.

WashingtonToneLocian, Dude,

Please cry me a friggen river. If McCain had made that mistake you'd be on here calling him senile. You know you would, so don't bother denying it. You've done it in the past and you'll do it again. What it really shows is how uncomfortable the Messiah is when he is off a teleprompter. And, no that is certainly not the best I can come up with. We all know he is devoid of any substantive ideas, now we know he is completely devoid of any geographic knowledge as well. Is that the best you can come up with, he is tired, he travels alot? I always know where I am. People who don't know where they are usually end up institutionalized.

I think it's funny that there are people who would actually believe that Obama doesn't know there are 50 states. It really tells you what kind of unteachably dumb people are attracted to the republican party nowadays. What an embarrassment.

I think it is funny that there are people that don't know when hypocracy is being shown to them in the mirror. The original point, in case it wasn't spelled out too basically for you is that if McCain had made the same dumbass mistake he would have been derided as senile. Now THAT is telling. And you are an embarassment.

Years ago, I took a flight from BWI to Oakland with a stop in Kansas City. I asked the flight attendant if we were in MO or KS. She wasn't sure.

Mixing up Kansas City and St Louis - if you don't handle your plane ticket, it could happen. Remember the football player who boarded a plane for Aukland, because he thought the loudspeaker said Oakland?

Even Ann Landers used to pick up her hotel phone call 0, and ask what city she was in.

At McSame's age senility is an issue..at Obama's age it's not. No hypocracy..just a fact!

That's because McCain is old and at the age when cognitive abilities begin to wane.

I used to have alot more respect for the Republican party until dumb rednecks like you took it over with all this idiotic nonsense. You're doing your party a huge disservice here.

I can understand that viewpoint. I certainly do not believe that Senator Obama believes there are 57 states or that ashmatics need breathalyzers, but his mental lapses are too frequent to be dismissed. I fear that his dementia may be a symptom of a much greater problem. It could be a result from an undiagnosed, untreated, and unknown brain tumor, it could also be a result of an unknown stroke. While I don't think it is the case, this degree of dementia can be attributable to drug abuse. Frankly, there are a great many reasons, some of which are innocuous and some of which could be troubling, as to why he is so forgetful. It is also troubling that he has not had a physical examination for nearly two years. Problematic symptoms that can be attributed to the rigors and fatigue brought on by a Presidential campaign, may indicate a more troublesome condition. He should release his medical records instead of a couple paragraph letter. He should also have a physical prior to the election.

Once you learn how to read, get back to me. You missed a few points along the way. Clear enough for you?

McCain DOES make these kinds of dumbass mistakes--all the time. Sometimes I think it's relevant, sometimes not. When he mixed up Sh'ia and Sunnis I thought that was relevant. When he answered the question about reinstating the draft and probably hadn't listened to the whole question I thought at best it could use some clarification. I don't think we ever got any though. Bush makes these mistakes everytime he opens his mouth but Republicans still think he's great.

Its Funny seeing people on TV all happy thinking Obama actually has a chance.

What it all boils down to is old white men. Ive never known old white men to vote for black guys, the USA dosnt trust the populous vote.

I bet Vince(1) jerks off everytime he sees him on TV.

Why is it these same people like "Geographer"" didn't come out of the wood work saying how many mistakes and errors in speeches bush made... Hell Bush cant even read a teleprompter let alone know what state he is in. ..

And you speak of double standards..

Is it because he is a Dem not a republican

Or

He is Black and not white?

There is a Kansas City in Missouri and across the river in Kansas there is also a Kansas City. The bigger city is the one in Missouri where the airport is. As far as I know there is only one St. Louis and that is in Missouri clear across the state and borders Obama's home state of Illinois.

I travel extensively and agree that it is possible to mix things up but I also agree with the OP that if Senator McCain had said this then he would have been bashed for it.

It's more likely McCain is senile, more likely than Obama actually forgetting how many states there are...

All I know is I have been to both Kanasas City and St. Louis and, with the exception of the St. Louis Arch, they are pretty much indistinguishable shit holes.

You stupid moron, you think Obama (or any presidential candidate of his status) can constantly keep track of the exact geographic position he's in? he's probably on a plane for a lot of his campaign, to cover ground, and actually speak with normal, everyday Americans. McCain couldn't keep track either, and I could understand why. But if McCain starts talking about Iraq like knows everything, and doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shi'a, well I think theres a problem there.
