Why are cigarettes sold in gas stations when smoking is prohibited there?

but the cigarettes produce a good cash flow for the merchant. And since the cigs are packed in a aluminium type foil surrounded by a cardboard box and no incendiary devises attached, the figure idiots can wait the 45 seconds before lighting up.

FYI Cigs are sold in airports also and most of those are completely non smoking.
