how not to conduct a live TV interview

Fox News sent Griff Jenkins to report on protesters at the Democratic Convention. Griff asked the protesters “Do you believe in Freedom of Speech,” and “do you believe in freedom.” The protestors stood up to the same news organization that allowed Sean Hannity to lie about Obama’s position on partial birth abortion, as well as the same news organization that referred to Michelle as “Obama’s Baby’s Mama,” and started chanting and bullying Griff . This verbal melee forced Griff to cut away from the report. The report was as follows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDGhs_LN7Fk&eurl=http://www.wonkette.com/

Off air, a shaken Griff tried to do a taped report from the middle of the crowd. After calling the protesters “far left winged” the protesters interfered with the taping, and verbally escorted Griff away from the scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D74Xs1VuYAE&feature=related

Memo to on the scene reporters, At the Newseum there is an interactive video game on how to be a “news reporter.” It teaches kids how to “ask the right questions,” and how to distinguish “opinion from fact” in news reporting to get to what the story “is.” I should submit Griff’s piece to the Newseum and request the news curators use the reporting style here as a fantastic example of how not to conduct live news interviews. Also, Fox News just proved the “far left” are not supporters of Obama. I don’t believe that was their intention. Denver 2008 will not be Chicago 1968, no matter how much Fox News wants it to be.

I'm sorry. This was so provoked by Faux News. I've never seen a reporter on any network wade into a crowd of protesters like this. You know damn well he was hoping to get this kind of reaction.

Proof that Fox News is a mouthpiece for President Bush's agenda.

Actually, He was hoping to show the "looney left" at the Democratic Convention- unfortunately, he did not.

I love how the idiot reporter brought up that comparison. There are protesters like this at every convention.

2000 Democratic Convention...

2004 Republican Convention...
