Just wanted to see if anyone had any great movie moments they wanted to share. Specifically, those movie moments that are great on the Big Screen or DVD that have been hacked to hell for TV, etc. I just saw Vacation on TV the other day and this scene was butchered. Here it is in all of its glory...Language (NSFW)

Yeah. This one, Christmas Vacation, Fletch and Caddyshack were pretty much it in terms of Chevy Chase's best work. He pretty much phoned in everything else.
What's remarkable about the age men scenes from 2001 is that they were all shot on a sound stage. No shots were actually done outdoors. Talk about great set design.
I loved the scenes from Cool Hand Luke and also from Animal House. The rest of the movies were all boring. My favorite movie is Bring It on. I also liked the scene in true Grit where John Wayne shot the rat.
Was anybody else frightened to death by John Carpenter's "The Thing" when they were a kid? I'm not a fan of horror movies, but this movie is still an accomplished creepfest. The helpless, tense atmosphere if this flick still holds up even today.
The gross-out special effects were sort of ahead of their time back in the early 80s. I remember me and my brother being so scared we couldn't sleep!

The scene in The Thing was obviously inspired by this...

I was a teenager when all of this stuff was going on. Alien was basically House on Haunted Hill meets Star Wars. Once it came out, there were a slew of movies that came out imitating it. The Thing was obviously one of the better ones. One of the worst was this piece of crap...
