Historic Google street view pics?

I was looking on historicaerials.com at a 1949 map and noticed I couldn't zoom in anymore like on Google maps. It's like they completely forgot to add streetview to these maps. Are there any sites that let you look at streetview from the 1960s and back?

I am guessing today's satellite technology would be needed to take pictures back then... since that did not exist, i would guess no.

Right, but what about street view? It's when Google drives around with a camera and records all the images. I'm not finding any Google streetview pics when I search on maps from the 1960s and back.

I believe the historic "map" photographs were taken from airplanes as early as the 40's and 50's. Similarly, many of today's google earth / map photos are taken from aircraft, not just satellites.
