Many democrats and protesters in general are filthy, unwashed hippies. I'm not sure a weapon like this will stop them. Between their general uncleanliness and the fact that their minds are usually messed up on some kind of illicit drugs anyway, they may not be able to achieve the effect they are desiring with this technology.

Look, having attended both the Republican and Democratic Conventionss since 1992, I can tell you the protesters are the same type of people-slackers and college students wanting a party, trying to get on TV. The funniest thing I saw was in Los Angeles, about 2,000 protesters went the Staples Center and protested with their signs and video cameras. The police lined up in full riot gear, started video taping the protesters in case they needed evidence. The police drew a line on the ground, and said that anyone who crossed it would be arrested. So, the protesters were on one side of the line, the police were on the other, and they were just staring at and video taping each other. This went on for about 40 minutes. Every time the news cameras pointed to the police, they put their face shields down but when the cameras went away they lifted their face shields up (it was 96 degrees and windy).
A little before 5:00 PM the police announced the delegates were coming in and ordered all press away from the protest. The news cameras all left, and the protesters quietly went away because there were no more TV cameras. Plus it was getting close to dinner.
Also that year in Philadelphia, I saw three college chicks holding up a sign that on one side said "Please officer, don't arrest me," and on the other side said "Hi Mom." Says a lot.
In Chicago, they had a sanctioned "protested parade" go down Michigan Ave the Sunday before the convention opened. The "Legalize Hemp" guys were all sitting on their float stoned. In San Diego they had a "protest stage" with a microphone set up and you signed up to give your speach. It was funny seeing a very well known member of the DC press guild stand up and orate angrily about the high cost of the bottle of wine he had at dinner the night before.

Admitted to conspiring with a political consultant to split $53,560 embezzled from the state in a sham transaction. He was indicted on corruption charges. Pleaded guilty to felony counts tax evasion and accepting a kickback. Sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Please use this argument that a violation of a law may not be a crime next time you are in traffic court. The judge will be impressed you follow our Attorney General so closely.

i believe the use of this weapon on non-violent people should be classified as "cruel and unusual punishment"
in the event that they use it, it sure as hell will cause a LOT of resentment against the cops.

A comment from 50 years of observing public life: If you notice someone ranting about other peoples' morality, conduct, bedroom practices, choice of partners, or anything else that neither affects his purse nor breaks his limb, you can predict, with near-100% certainty, that that individual is engaged in the very conduct he condemns so vociferously. Note the kinds of bad conduct cited in the foregoing posts and the interesting distribution by party. It's high time the public moralizers accept that "All have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of God." Going the next step, if the lesson is not absorbed by the time one becomes an adult, it could be said that public moralizing, of the name-calling, finger-pointing variety,is by definition a cry for help.
