Every generation has its war, what will this one's be?

Every generation has a defining war. The "Baby Boomers" had Vietnam. Generation X managed to escape a defining war due to the backlash of Vietnam. Millenials will have a defining war too. What will it be?

The same war that's been going on for the last decade. The fake war, which will soon turn into WW3 and then a civil war and revolution and anarchy and attempted overthrow of the government!

Disagree, we had Gulf War I. US v. Iraq, televised live on CNN. We could actually watch smart bombs falling on Iraq! Desert Storm seemed like a totally kick-ass moment for America.

It defined the way we see wars nowadays.

Hey stupid, have you noticed we have been at war in Afganistan for 10+ years now and just finished up another war in Iraq? What hole have you been in. You might want to define what generation silly.

Most of Generation X spent their early and teenage years living through the Cold War.

Can you not read? Generation Y/Z/Millenials.

Defining war is a war that has a draft. One that changes the whole generation, regardless of service.

I consider the Cold War to be more a diplomatic thing than anything else. However, the Cold War became very hot in some circumstances (Korea, Vietnam, other proxy wars).

The first time generation millenial was mentioned was in 93 referring to anyone below the age of 12. You are kind of behind on that one. Next time reference wikipedia before you post. Now you throw in gen z after relalizing what a moron you are. lolz. Born in 1983 that put lots of gen Y's in the crosshairs of the invasion of Afganistan and Iraq. You do know most people join the military right out of highschool?

So don't be middle class.
A generation has to be defined to have a war. Americans born since the eighties haven't enough character for definition.
I stand corrected. Generation Define-less. Electronics and gadgets out define this generation.

A global Salafist Islamist insurgency against the near-enemy, apostate regimes propagated by the United States.

That's why planes had to be hijaked and slammed into buildings. 20 years of jihadists fighting the near-enemy, and losing, convinced bin Laden, and eventually Zawahiri, that American (the far-enemy) political will (both dometstically and internationaly), economic might and military capability had to be exhausted in a series of wars before the governments of places like Syria, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Libya, Saudi, Lebennon, Yemen...would be vulnerable enough to be overthrown.

Syria is the major front in this war right now. A decade ago the US would not have stood on the sidelines, IMO.

I have you now.

Syria is led by a Shia government, numbnut. The rebels are Sunni Wahabbis. The US is already leading a coalition of Arab governments and European colonialists in bankrolling the opposition to Assad and funnelling weapons and militants to the front. This formula has been used over and over by the US/NATO over the last 20 years since the fall of the Warsaw Pact.

The next war will be different from the rest, because we've invited the enemy in.

Yes, we're bending over backwards to show how unracist and tolerant we are, and this pussification will destroy the U.S. eventually.

OK with me, my shelf life will expire before this truly manifests itself.

But to anyone under 30, by the time you're my age you'll be living in the third world, within our own borders, have fun.

So BEH and RP think we'll have some kind of civil war.

I have you now.

If you have to have a draft for it to be considered a defining war, then the days of a draft having a defining war are over.
