Welcome to yesterday. He's been replaced by the goofy Asian gu in every movie.

what's asian gu look like?

He had a couple funny movies early on but hasnt been funny in over a decade or even relevant.

His comedy was completely one note like was mentioned above and in small doses/at first was comical. Once youd seen it once though youd seen every single movie hes ever been in much like Jack Black and it got stale very quickly.

Now hes just using pathetic attempts to get attention again most likely with the hopes of getting more work. At best hes a has been hack who other than acting like a complete idiot really wasnt a good actor nor someone who was ever taken seriously.

I think he's like Bill Murray, Jerry Lewis and other funny guys who make a pile of money and want to expand their range. I don't think many actors want to be looked at like a one trick pony. Jerry Lewis refers to himself in the third person to separate himself from his goofy man/child persona.
After making enough money, Carrey can afford to take chances. That said, I think he's dipping back into the familiar pool to be relevant again. But like John Travolta, all it takes is one hit movie to be back on top.

I'd pull Murray out of that group. He's a genuinely funny guy regardless what he's doing.

The other two are purely acts. Carey basically just ripped off Lewis' act and updated it a little.

I wasn't talking about funny. That's pretty subjective since Murray, Lewis, Carrey,etc made a bunch of money using versions of the same act. I meant I don't think they want to be confused with their onscreen persona. Murray tried to truely act in "The Razor's Edge". People were confused and stayed away. That movie combined with his high salary and studio politics, made him rebuild his career.

What IS funny is that someone was so pissed off about the anti-gun video Carey just did, that they felt the need to start a thread about his career.

We should all be half as successful as Carey.

Although I don't agree with Jimmy on this one , you have to be a real douche to get upset about an American citizen exercising their right to free speech.

Dickwad, I havent seen his video. I can just imagine it is something controversial to try to get his face back out there since his career is drowning. His act is old and people tire of his acting like a retard. Its only funny for so long. I will credit him for being as funny as Jerry Lewis which is to say he isnt funny in the least.
