Tort Reform

It always amazes me why the Democrats don't trade tort reform for something they want but Republicans oppose (maybe, guaranteed healthcare for children). Lawsuits like the one below, where a flight attendant is suing Victoria Osteen for 10% of her net worth, make me cringe. Tort reform is so obviously necessary, why not try to attach some nice program now to legislation that will inevitably pass a couple years down the road?

That's right and there's no one more phony than the Osteen family who truly deserve punitive damages. Tort reform will never happen because it isn't popular. Besides, what exactly have the Republicans given up in the previous 7 years? -§
