Well, to be fair, I really don't consider it "tomorrow" until I go to bed and wake up again the "next day", even if I'm up until just before sunrise (of course, sunrise does indicate "tomorrow" to me).

But since I deal with servers and databases, I pay close attention to the time and date, especially since I have servers in different time zones and even getting a time zone wrong can screw everything up when dealing with multiple time zones and publishing and embargo times and datelines on articles.

Potentially getting a man fired because of the shit that I'm sure more than a few of us do on a daily basis is a level of hypocrisy I can't condone. Prada is definitely not the first person to start a flame war on here from a corporate computer, but being the only one to suffer real-life consequences for it is fucked up.

Yes, what he's doing is incredibly dumb, and I hope he's at least learned not to fuck with people online that A) are Propeller Head Jerks, and B) have less to lose than he does. Ban him, fine. Post his IP address, hilarious. But trying to get him fired for (like it or not) the same shit we do is taking it too far.

There is a very important distinction here. PD went above trolling... he went on a personal and targeted rampage against someone on a public forum, posting his address, his phone number, his picture, a description of his car, comments on where he worked, etc. He did it shamelessly and repeatedly, was told it was dangerous and inappropriate but continued unabated. When you do that to people who are smart, they are going to try to find ways to stop you and get your attention.

There is a big difference between coming on here and calling the regulars names or whatever, and what PD did. We give it and we take it, no big deal. But when one starts posting threatening messages and personal information, that's over the line. People defend themselves and their friends, it's a fact of life. The moral of the story is don't fuck around with smart people and try to affect their "real lives" like PD did. He's not the first one to go scampering away in fear after a flurry of editing out what posts he could, in fear that maybe HE is going to get some of what he MEANT to happen to SOMEONE ELSE. He brought it, and he got it. Hopefully he learned his lesson and nothing serious happens to him or his job, and hopefully the people he posted personal info about don't have to pay a price for his actions too.

Sometimes when a bully spits on someone they think they can handle, they get socked in the nuts. Think about that the next time you fuck with someone.

I'm guessing they could just appear out of nowhere and in a very short time become completely offended by everyone to the point where they instantly know where to dig up subtle details from stuff posted years ago, and repeatedly log into the IRC like EJ does.... and then they suddenly announce they are leaving and go back and delete their posts just like EJ. I'm guessing that's possible. Or, it could all just be the same person.
