*Rumors and Unverified Email Thread*
Posted by: Radiophile ()
Date: August 07, 2008 04:42PM

This thread is started for the sole purpose of letting people post the unverified rumors and spam emails they reciecve.

If you are too lazy to check Snopes.com, Wiki, Fairfax or other law enforcement Agencies, or the 100s of online LEGITIMATE sources to verify the information, please post it here.

This will serve two purposes. First, since you are too lazy and stupid to verify the information - the rest of us are too lazy and stupid to want to read it. Get it?

Second, it will give you the same sence of accomplishment posting it here than it would posting it in the General forum. And for us, again, we don't have to read it.

So go ahead guys and gals - have a blast. This is YOUR thread; use it. Anonymous posters always are welcome.

From the Los Angeles Times,

An examination of court documents tells a different story. McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had "cohabited" until Jan. 7 of that year -- or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.

Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.

So "technicaly, first an adulterer, then a bigamist, then he broke a vow he made earlier before God - and then all was right in the world.

Much as I'd like this to be true, I think I have to call you out on a technicality. While he apparently obtained the marriage *license* while still married to his first wife, he didn't actually marry Cindy until a few weeks after his divorce was final. So, adulterer--yes, bigamist--probably not.

Once the marriage license is signed by three parties involved, you are married. The ceremony is just for show.

Well, I think the rules vary by state, but in Arizona it appears the marriage is not official until the ceremony has taken place. The first document here references the license. Note how it says the license expires after one year--that wouldn't make sense if the ceremony were only for show. The second document mentions recording the marriage certificate after the ceremony has taken place. Again, I'd like it to be true, but I don't think it works.

I am not an Arizona attorney, and I dont know personally when the documents were signed. But if there is a problem with what the LA Times wrote, take it up with them. I am sure if he thought he could get away with it, Walnuts himself would have blasted the LA Times for this. He just sat back and hoped no one would notice.

A simillar thing happened with his disability. John McCain is disabled according to the US Government and recieves a 50 some thousand dollar a year pension (tax free) for his disability. He was hoping you would notice this also.

Fine, but I don't think the LA Times referred to him as a bigamist--you did. They pointed out that the timeline he described wasn't exactly accurate--I'm not disputing that. I think he plays pretty loose with the truth and isn't the stand up guy he likes people to think of him as. But bigamist has a specific meaning--and I don't think what he did qualifies.

STOP letting facts get in the way of Radiophile's fictitious fantasies!

Look, the only bigamist that has any bearing on this election is Barack Obama. That is a plain and simple fact that Radiophile chooses to ignore

When a marriage license is signed by the couple, someone who is authorized by the state, and the witnesses, you are married. Period, Got it. Elaborate wedding or simple ceremony of "Sign Here" it does not matter.

You then are required to file it with the appropriate ageny. You gat married om May 1st and file the paperwork october 1, you were married on May 1st.

And Alias, you and all your other "Alias's" are out of control. Do you pat yourself on the back 20 times a day also?

OMG, Radiophile, please tell me you are not this stupid. Getting a marriage license does not mean you are married. It means you are allowed to get married within the stated time. I seriously don't know why people waste their time with your nonsense. You are as dull as a comatose vegatable.

First of all, this Carol was another man's wife. The McCain relationship was bad to begin with. Stupid choices.... And two wrongs don't make a right. I'm afraid that someone got a taste of her own medicine to her husband, Alasdair Swanson.

The CNN piece on McCain's first wife brought up the marriage license thing as well. He got a marriage license for Cindy before he was divorced from his first wife.

And a reporter in a one one interview bought it up again recently. Mr. McCain said he does not recall.
