Marine Sniper stands up for our 2nd amendment
Posted by: dont tread on me ()
Date: February 03, 2013 01:39PM

Former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, author of the best-selling autobiography "American Sniper," was one of two people killed Saturday at a gun range, authorities said.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/03/justice/texas-sniper-killed/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Recently, Kyle spoke out against weapons bans. In a video interview with guns.com, Kyle accused President Barack Obama of being "against the Second Amendment."

The deceased Kyle and a neighbor took a man struggling with PTS to the range to help him then he turned his gun on them and took them both out. We teach our young men and women in the service to be good killers and they are. What is the surprise here? People want a kick-ass military but dont realize what the military is for - killing people. Period.

It takes training to make killing machines but we dont spend much time un-training those skills we just dump our service persons back into society like they have had a job serving ice cream during their tour. For what? 2 ten year wars that have accomplished little.

Condolences to the families.

Jesse Ventura sued this guy after he claimed in his book to have gotten in a bar fight with Ventura; Jesse claims it never happened. Somehow I believe Jesse Ventura in this.

Yeah, I can understand that. One guy is the most decorated sniper in history and was called "The Devil" by the terrorists in Fallujah for picking off so many of those sand niggers. The other is a blowhard asshole who was a failed loser of a governor that hosted a failed TV show on big government conspiracies. Gee, why should we not be surprised that you're backing the blowhard. lolz

The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

On second thought, I sound like a clueless prick, don't I?

No, say it ain't so. Jesse Ventura lying? But, he was a pro wrestler. Those guys never lie. How could "The Body", who played like he was fighting all those years, get decked by an active duty Marine. It couldn't have happened.

Chris Kyle - The Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History:
Kyle served during the height of the American involvement in Iraq including the March on Baghdad, and the battles of Fallujah, Ramadi and Sadr City. While serving in Iraq, insurgents placed a bounty on Kyle's head because of his lethal accuracy as a sniper, WFAA news reports.
He was awarded two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, ABC News writes.
"I don't care about the medals," Kyle told the Star-Telegram in a 2012 interview. "I didn't do it for the money or the awards. I did it because I felt like it was something that needed to be done and it was honorable. I loved the guys."
From 1999 to 2009, Kyle recorded more than 150 sniper kills, the most in U.S. military history.
After leaving combat duty, Kyle wrote the “Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine,” which is the first Navy SEAL sniper manual.

"Kyle's friend Jason Kos said he was "a man of incredible character. He led by example. He always stopped to take time to talk to whoever was around him. Just incredibly humble, very funny as well."

"Kyle, an outspoken advocate for war veterans, claimed more than 150 sniper killings during his time in Iraq, which he described as a record for any American. He said insurgents placed a bounty on his head and nicknamed him "the devil."

"It's kind of frowned on," he told the magazine. "But I'm not trying to glorify myself. I didn't want to put the number of kills I had in there. I wanted to get it out about the sacrifices military families have to make."

Guy sounds like an asshole, actually. Guess he didn't see that bullet coming.

Why is this a story at all?

Just another statistic of gun violence in my book.

You can not pick and choose - he died because of ignorant gun control in our country.

Remember - He is in SUPPORT of the gun rights of the guy who killed him.

Doubtful the weapon used would be considered under the assault weapon ban. Semiauto pistol, unless it had one of those extended mags. But dont let that get in your way of banning guns safely and legally owned by responsible gun owners.

Someone in another thread got it right - they put a gun in a mentally-deranged person's hands and expected good results.

BEYOND DUHmb.

I don't think gun control will work any better than drug or alcohol control worked.

But it's long past time for the "well-regulated" part of that 2nd amendment to come into play.

What do you thing "well regulated" meant? If you think it meant controlled, you're wrong. It meant well functioning or well trained. The founders wanted everyone to have a gun because they wanted to be able to call up citizens who could fight immediately and not be a bunch of liberal girly men. And the first part, about "necessary for the security of a free state" refers to the need for the citizens in a free state to be able and willing to defend themselves against those who would rob them of that freedom. It was an individual right, not a collective right. This is true of all the rights in the Bill of Rights when the term "the people" is used.

Yeah, see, we have standing army now, Einstein. Makes the whole "well regulated militia" thing null and void.

Sure, 'cuz your original post made perfect sense, eh Sport?

"What do you thin[k] "well regulated" meant? If you think it meant controlled, you're wrong. It meant well functioning or well trained"

How can a militia be well trained and function well it is not controlled?

"The founders wanted everyone to have a gun because they wanted to be able to call up citizens who could fight immediately and not be a bunch of liberal girly men."

Oh, yeah, and we didn't have a standing army.

"And the first part, about "necessary for the security of a free state" refers to the need for the citizens in a free state to be able and willing to defend themselves against those who would rob them of that freedom."

Freedom as you envision it is long gone, Sport. The federal government has powers the Founders would have raised arms against, but with which we're all pretty comfortable. It's 2013, Sport. We're never going back to 1787

"It was an individual right, not a collective right. This is true of all the rights in the Bill of Rights when the term "the people" is used."

Just another know-it-all blowhard teabagger.

Did you read the article?

"On 2 June, 1784, Congress ordered the discharge of all remaining soldiers except twenty-five caretakers at Fort Pitt and fifty-five at West Point. The next day it created a peace establishment acceptable to all interests"

When the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, were adopted on August 21, 1789, the US did not have a standing army.

Im saying it's very unlikely that someone with over 250 kills GAVE a gun to an ex marine with ptsd. In fact, i'd say that equally if not more likely is the scenario that the cia approached the shooter while he was in the army and had him mind controlled into killing kyle at the command of barrack obama. Guy makes it through 250 kills and he starts to defend the amendment Obama desperately wants to strip away from us, and all of a sudden he gets shot? at a shooting range?

That was the Continental Army. It then was replaced by the US Army.

"The United States Army (USA) is the main branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for land-based military operations. It is the largest and oldest established branch of the U.S. military, and is one of seven U.S. uniformed services. The modern army has its roots in the Continental Army which was formed on 14 June 1775,[2] to meet the demands of the American Revolutionary War before the establishment of the United States. The Congress of the Confederation officially created the United States Army on 3 June 1784[3][4] after the end of the Revolutionary War to replace the disbanded Continental Army. The army considers itself to be descended from the Continental Army and thus dates its inception from the origins of that force.[2]"

Now both of you idiots STFU.

How can a well regulated militia be out of control?

Scholar needs to read some Sun Tzu.

90% of gun 2nd gun purchases can be tied directly to psychological issues, ie lack of control, importance, impotence etc.

The trick is...don't give guns to pEople outwardly expRessing crazy tendencies.

No Gonads & Strife, I did not read the book. I do however, know that the claims made against Jesse are bullshit intended to increase book sales.

You are one clueless douchebag:

"After the [Revolutionary] war, though, the Continental Army was quickly given land certificates and disbanded in a reflection of the republican distrust of standing armies. State militias became the new nation's sole ground army, with the exception of a regiment to guard the Western Frontier and one battery of artillery guarding West Point's arsenal. However, because of continuing conflict with Native Americans, it was soon realized that it was necessary to field a trained standing army. The first of these, the Legion of the United States, was established in 1791 and disbanded in 1796."

As I said, when the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, were adopted on August 21, 1789, the US did not have a standing army.

lol, and you're the great 'outer'. Perhaps go look back at some of the arguments I've had with G&S and you'll see I am not him (her?)

Jesse made derogatory comments at a funeral and got smacked down, as he deserved. Matter of fact, Jesse is a fake wannabe Seal. BUD/S didn't exist when fruit loops served.

So, you admit they had an army, but now you're whining about the size of the army at that time.

Nope.

The Continental Army was disbanded on 2 June, 1784.

Legion of the United States, the nation's first field a trained standing army, was established in November/December 1791.

Fpr seven and a half years,Bbtween June 1784 and December 1791, the United STates did not have a stading army.

This was because the Founding Fathers had been suspicious of standing armies, believing that the militia would be suited to all the nation's defensive needs. Like you, it turns out that the Founding Fathers were wrong.

He was an American war hero who dedicated his life after the service to helping his fellow war fighters who were suffering from PTSD and other war related disabilities. And your contribution to society is? Being a fuckwad on the Internet apparently. We have plenty of those shithead. Do us all a favor and move on to suicide. You'll finally be contributing.

Yes, I remember your interactions with your other name, G & S. I also remember the conversations you had on 4lulz as well. The "two of you" claim to be brothers. I also remember you claiming to have been in the military for twenty years, yet I know for a fact that Gonads doesn't have any brothers old enough to have been in the military for that long.

Go play with your degenerate loser friends, Liam and Juli.

Jesse Ventura is a public figure and would know better than to make derogatory comments at a veteran's funeral. Again, the SEAL that wrote the book just wanted some fascinating stories to sell.

I wish I knew. The only thing I can find on him with dozens of paid background checks and a private investigator is the same address for the past 30+ years. He's a complete shut in.

I do not consider snipers war heros. Most are a little on the weird side. This one wanted the publicity. Most don't and retreat into the solitary world. In the field we they kept their distance. So did I.

A new American revolution has begun,
Not against the forces of a colonial kingdom
But a rebellion against an oppressor that has risen among us,
It is not a foreign invasion we have to fear,
Rather the threat of a force within our nation
That has usurped what was once a dream of having the greatest democracy ever known to man,
We now live in a world where the population has grown exponentially,
And the planet is running out of resources to sustain us all,
We in the inner-city and those struggling in the suburban ghettos may not realize it yet,
But make no mistake,
The people who control the technology and run every enterprise that makes up our world,
Have seen this coming for a long time,
The ideas of renewable energy,
Global warming,
The idea of collectively working,
Were purposefully bought out, derailed, demonized, or corrupted,
In favor of an economic structure designed by a monetary caste system,
In a desperate attempt to convince us that we need to maintain that extravagant existence,
They've pretended we might share in their dream,
That we can justify any inhumanity in its name,

Out of this blind ignorance was born the curse of slavery,
Many of the founders of this nation were themselves Masons,
That is not a Left wing or Right wing conspiracy theory,
It is a widely known and accepted fact,
So then explain to me how a nation founded by men,
Who not only understood the long and complicated history of Europe,
But also that of Africa,
Could permeate such a lie in convincing the American public,
That one race of men was superior and one inferior,
When in fact we know that all the early men,
The men who created civilization and every aspect of what we see today,
The foundation of all human life,
Were from Africa,
The greatest cowardice of course came not with slavery itself,
Unfortunately,
But with the excuses for slavery,
For if America had been as brave as the Roman Empire and all other empires that have come after her,
And claimed "No, we were just stronger and that's why we took you",
Then when slavery was over racism would've probably followed in suit,
But instead it was the social lie,
The religious lie that was told,
That stayed in the mind of people,
That seperated one human being from another,
In order to distract us from the issues of class and freedom,
They created issues around religion and race to dominate the world for centuries to come

Some claim that they respect that they respect the culture of life in this country,
They cry out for indignity of children that are slaughtered before they are born,
But God has not penetrated their souls,
For they have no empathy,
Nothing in their cold hearts for the 100s of 1,000s of lives we have taken in our wars overseas,
For that which they call "collateral damage",
Which the are the burnt and damaged children of the world,
They have no prayers for them,
Only snide commentary on the internet and laughter in their hearts,
And yet you claim to be one with God

We talk about immigration in this country,
Might doesn't make right ladies and gentleman,
It just makes right now,
What we are saying to the rest of the world,
Is one day when America grows weak,
One day when her legions falter,
On the day when her economy crumbles,
China, Russia, Europe, whatever power has arisen,
All you have to do is come here and conquer us in a few military excursions,
And then you too can set up shop here,
And in 100 years you can tell every red-blooded American,
"No, you are an illegal human being,
I am the true citizen,
I have all the rights,
You have no rights",
Maybe you forgot how you got this country,
Maybe you take for granted the blood, the sweat, the tears,
That the people who live in practical serfdom shed everyday,
For we may not run America, but we make America run

Speaking of laws,
How can a corporation be regulated by a government that is funded and controlled by corporations?
How can there be accountability,
For people who see a profit margin above the lives of Americans?
Above the lives of human beings in other countries?
We have taken the soul out ourselves and placed them inside machines,
My words of course,
Will be marginalized, demonized,
In typical fashion,
Anytime you dare to question the power structure they say you hate America,
No, I love this country,
I see its beauty everyday in its people,
And I love it a lot more than those who have abandoned the American worker,
That have chose to exploit and try to take away benefit she has,
Those that attempt to make excuses for every atrocity committed,
In the name of supposed freedom,
Those who demand accountability from everyone,
But offer none themselves
