That's only for the government policies, Feds, Medicare, etc.

Yeah I got individual policy with BCBS. Always got my notice in January. Guess I should call and see if I can increase my deductible. Only have $1000 but can afford $2000. I believe Barry's wonderful health care program forces health insurance to offer policies with higher deductibles. I hope.

It does the opposite. You can still get them as it stands now but the high-deductible policies are going away at some point.

Its just simple math, when you force insurance companies to provide policies that they will lose money on from day 1 everyone has to pay more so that they dont go bankrupt and no one has insurance.

The whole preexisting condition crap was a myth anyway, you could get insurance with any condition it just wouldnt be covered for 10 months to prevent people from not having insurance and then getting it when something happened.

This is what happens when you make change for the sake of change.

The simple fact that congress and the senate made themselves exempt from the policy should have been enough to tell people it was a terrible idea

You might want to look into that a little more before woo hoo'ing.

I deal with this kind of stuff a lot and I've not seen any where the cost has fallen for the same plan. Possible I suppose but that would be VERY unusual especially by that much of a percentage. Things just aren't working that way these days so, on its face, something doesn't appear right.

They may have changed some aspect of your coverage in order to reduce the cost or moved you into some other compliant plan, which many are doing now. I'd take a closer look so that you're not surprised down the road.

I think my contribution went up by about $5/paycheck. Since I can't remember a year in which it hasn't increased, I'm not complaining. The increases were more substantial for the premium plan, but I haven't had a single year in which I've had enough doctors' bills to justify the premium plan.
