Hitting her with harder questions would have done more damage than good.

They already got away with the cover-up long enough to win the election.

The country has no debt crisis as long as the Fed continues to monetize the debt. You can keep that crazy train going for a long time as long as the other central banks of the other failed economies play along. Since we're selling our debt to our kids and grandkids, we just write more IOU's when it comes to paying back that debt, kicking it onto the great grandkids and on and on. That's why we had to get off the gold standard. When our money was tied to an actual, traded commodity that the Fed could not control, the value of the dollar was at the mercy of our fiscal policies. Now, the value of the dollar is whatever the Fed sets it to be. Completely artifical but it allows the government to spend $1.2 trillion more every year than it takes and not even bat an eye. So endth the economic lesson for today.
