It's the Compaion Cube. Although the wings are a nice touch, they're definitely not canon.

Sorry, didn't take photos (still ongoing), however, here's what we had/are having from phtotos from others:

Chinese roast duck direct from NYC (!):

sliced-duck.jpg

Broiled bacon-wrapped shrimp and scallops (!):

Steamed lobster (!!! - bro-in-law JUST walked in with the live ones - surprise to me!):

Rice (duh):

Salad:

And more beer than this house sees in a year (5 bro-in-laws and Dear Ol' Grandma are over) - no picture - I figure you know what beer looks like. If not, see above!

You actually have no idea what you are doing there... you are going to need a larger crockpot!!!

You win. Roast duck, shrimp, scallops, and lobster (where the heck do you get lobster on Xmas?). My relatives always bring crap like three bean salad. Can I borrow yours?

My wife has, like, 10 siblings - as such their meals tend to be...large.

I have no idea where the bro-in-law got the lobster and scallops, I suspect Great Wall but it could have been anywhere.

The scallops were "new to me" - massively sized (farm-raised, though) and fresh but in a can that looks EXACTLY (and seals) like a paint can - =8 pounds= worth (!)...we're gonna freeze about a third of that. My wife is currently taking the lobster leftovers (mostly shells, bodies, dinky legs, few broken sets of large claw meat "they" didn't want to extract but I did), and making stock with the hard parts and, soon, lobster soup with all the meat leftovers and some of that stock.

Total insanity - this was NOT a planned get-together - we knew one bro-in-law was coming back from a day trip to NYC and bringing us a duck but had no idea another bro-in-law and another bro-in-law and another bro-in-law and Dear Ol' Grandma et al were shortly thereafter going to show up. Mad house during food prep. Turned out fine.

Happy Holidays!

Now where's that Pepto Bismol...

Turkey (which I brined), stuffing with fresh herbs and chestnuts, yams, mashed potatoes, cranberry relish, rosemary brussel sprouts, asparagus, and french silk pie. All homemade. And since it was for two people, we have about 2 weeks worth of leftovers.

Even better? I threw some herbs and roasted root veggies into a stock pot with the carcass and let it simmer all night. Tomorrow I make soup!
