Pickens is right. This is the most reasonable way I have seen of tackling the problem. Granted, it is only part of the solution, but from a short-term perspective, I think it makes a lot of sense.

Of course he is...but if FU is an indication of public sentiment forget people getting on the same sheet of music. People refuse to do even the smallest thing as slow down on the highways...some think it's more then ok that 4% of the people use 25% of the fuel....it's all market based. Of course what they fail to understand is that more sooner then later we wont have the financial resources to drive the market place....then watch them squeal. I really have little hope that the US can approach this topic in a rationale and intelligent manner. Notice that none of the typical FU posters have commented on this proposal yet...when faced with facts and a rationale approach they hide their heads in the sand!

Now that Ive posted a comment..just watch...they'll start their anti this ant-that tyrades but they wont make one intelligent comment on the topic.

because the USA is the only nation buying oil. -_-

why not start with more efficient cars? seriously, if you have a car that double the distance on the same amount of gas, it's far better than saving %2 of gas. the USA really just needs to force automakers to make their cars fuel efficient. cars that get 50MPG are not fictional, it's just cheaper to make inefficient cars.

Using Vince as an alternative energy source makes sense. The guy is a total blowhard. All that hot air he spews could provide enough energy for the entire DC metro area.

See...I knew someone would bite to comment on the miniscule...and not take the time to comment on the big picture.

Im all for buying/developing more efficient cars....that is definately a big part of the equation. But as Boone says...the solution ain't drilling for more oil.

By the way...what Boone is doing is the "education" I referred to in an earlier posting on nuclear power.

Boy..this was way too easy...a second one in less then 10 seconds....there is very little hope for Amerika if people are going to be so easily distracted. Concentrate 496..concentrate..the issue isnt how much you hate me...it's energy independencer and how to get there.

+1. And throw in all the authors of the material he plagiarizes (copies, pastes into a post, and represents as his own), and we can probably knock off another few billion from imported energy costs.

+2

btw, i suspect this will be looked back upon as something comparable to the fear of communists during the cold war.

I bet you cant find more then one incident I didnt give credit/reference to someyhing I copied...and that time was on purpose. Cant you at least add one intelligent coment that is on topic? How many times I have copied and pasted is not what this thread is about. As Gravis loves to say.....OFF TOPIC. Silly...silly little boys.

Are you boys infatuated with me?..it's almost like puppy love. Love you boys too...xoxoxox

I never heard of tboon pickens till about a week ago.
I think I like the plan, I just seen it and It seems pretty solid. I dont know though? He is a billionaire after all. Can he be trusted? His complete plan is at http://www.tboonpickens.com
I wonder if either candidate will embrace his plan., I signed a petition asking Obama to at least give his plan serious consideration. You can sign the petition at http://www.theobamaplan.com
