Do people actually like Ruby Tuesdays? I ate at the one in Pentagon City Mall about ten years ago and had some terrible pasta dish. How can you screw up pasta?

I can't believe people actually go to those kinds of places, especially when you live near a city with plenty of other options.

I go once in a blue moon because I have kids and like to have an alcoholic beverage with my meal (did I mention I have kids?) It is an option if you don't want to go to Burger King.

But I agree, the food isn't very good.

I used to like it, years ago. Then it seemed like they took all my favorite dishes off their menu. And no matter which location I went to, the service was crap.

I'll admit to really liking Bennigan's back in the day. They had great appetizers and some real good sandwiches on their menu. I was bummed when they closed the one in Tysons cuz it was within walking distance and I'd go in there all the time for beer and appetizers. Looking back though, it probably wasn't much better than Applebee's or Ruby Tuesdays though.

No, I didn't even know it was closing, I just walked over there one day and was like "well this sucks." It did get a pretty good crowd on some nights, I used to really like that place.

That was my old stomping grounds back in the day on Tuesday nights. It was packed like a nightclub, and Jen would let us drink all night with no tab! Shit was off the hook, and so much action it was unbelievable! On the last night, people were tearing the prop stuff off the walls for souvenirs!LOL

So I got stuck into making a trip to Potomac Mills this morning.... and on the way out we were so hungry that we ended up in the Ruby Tuesdays.

And since I unfairly bashed the place just this week, I must admit that it was actually not too bad. They had a nice salad bar, and I was able to make a big romaine salad that was quite good. Then I ordered a platter of two mini-turkey burgers, which were surprisingly pretty tasty... the grilled buns were great and they topped the burgers with nice juicy slices of tomato. I was into it. It came with "seasoned" fried (which I hate) but they were crispy and hot so I can't complain.

All things said, I retract my earlier comments. I wouldn't rush back to Ruby Tuesdays, but the salad bar and turkey burger combo was a pretty fucking good lunch for the price. I give credit where credit is due.
