homeland security is a governmental phrase that is as oxymoronic, as crazy as saying military intelligence, or the U.S Department of Justice. They're just words that have very little relationship to reality. And do you feel safer now? Do you think you will anytime soon? Do you think duck tape and Kleenex and color codes will make you safer?

Boehner is hoping that the teabaggers will head for home for the Holidays. That way, when the time comes in the next week-to-10-days to vote on a deal, they won't be around to get in his way.

Umm, no. In fact, it is widely presumed and talked about openly that the House will stay in past its target adjournment date of December 14, 2012. My bet is that the House will remain in session until at least the 21st.
