Obama Eyeing 401(k) plans
Posted by: FuckObama ()

Is Obama looking at 401(k) plans as yet another way to fuck the taxpayer?

After throwing away a trillion dollars of the tax payers' money, through his phony stimulus package, Obama is looking for new ways to steal money from the producers.

It's going to get ugly tax-wise.

It sure will get ugly as long as the Republicans block the tax increase on high earners. The Republicans will not support anything that may solve the problem so in the next election they can put all the blame on Obama.

If you're using a Roth, it's not affected by any restrictions on deductions. Remember when Bush tried to get everyone to convert over to Roth accounts so he could collect the taxes.

Just rescinding the tax cuts on the high earners does little to fix the budget deficit. If the Pubs accept it, the Democrats will just keep coming back for more. Everything should be on the table including cutting spending. Let the budget sequestration come.

Yeah, it sure will get ugly as long as the communist-in-chief won't compromise.

This modern day Robin Hood doesn't give a flying fuck about you, Big K. He is only interested in the redistribution of wealth as a means of creating a population increasingly more dependent on the government. As the federal government expands, you lose freedom......or didn't they teach you that in the stupid school you attended?

This is all about the growth of the federal government; it has nothing to do with making your life any more pleasant.

Of course, this only works when there are enough dummies out there like you, Big K, who don't have a fucking clue.

Just sit there with a nice retarded smile...... that's all Obama needs you to do.

Democrats are fucking blood suckers.

They are bacterial infections, destroying the healthy until they feed and collapse into their own decay.

They produce nothing on their own, except the rancid feces they expel with ease.

Feces..... their primary contribution to society.

It's thinking like that ladies and germs that has gotten us to the impasse we are at today.

It is no longer possible to admit, or possibly even see, that there are multiple legitimate points of view on these matters, or that reasonably intelligent and informed people can come to a different conclusion than the one you favor. No. There can only be one correct answer and anyone who does not agree with it must be mentally deficient, corrupt, self serving, or some combination of the three.

Trust me, ASPPA is a bunch of know nothings just 2 steps ahead of "real estate professionals".

The group was started for people too stupid to get real actuarial credentials. Don't take anything ASPPA says seriously.

Just like I won't take anything YOU said seriously. The article said that ASPPA said something might happen, so you immediately jumped to the conclusion that Obama is doing something.

Actually, are you a member of ASPPA? They are your type of people.

This is sort of like how a small diploma mill in Tidewater VA became the largest recruiting source for lawyers in the Bush Justice Department. And they promptly came up with legal justifications for torture and warrantless wiretaps and circumventing the FISA court.

Nothing to worry about. Since Obama is a lame duck nothing is going to pass anyways. Both sides will not give so just get used to it. It is politics and the way it has been for a long time.

It is a start. What do you suggest?? Not raise taxes on anyone and watch congress refuse to cut costs?? What is the answer....it really doesn't matter because neither side will give so nothing will change anyways and they will blame each other like they always do. That is the truth and would will really happen.

Let's go over the cliff and see what happens. We need both more revenue and less spending....seems like this will accomplish both simultaneously. Everyone can pay more in tax and most program/functions of government will take spending cuts. Seems like a compromise that might work.

Its only a start if spending cuts happen too. Without the spending cuts any tax increase will do nothing. The spending needs to happen first though. People are willing to pay more IF and only if a legitimate attempt to solve the problem is happening. What people arent willing to do is to just pay more to the status quo so we can have the same situation but they have less money.

The sad truth is we probably will never be debt free again and will need MASSIVE economic growth to even get within spitting distance. That said though it doesnt mean we shouldnt be trying to be as close as possible and not running up debt like it doesnt matter. But spending is the key, theres a limited amount of money you can bring in no matter what the tax rate but theres numerous places we can reduce federal waste. If it also means the federal government needs to also be smaller so be it, we dont need them running everything.

Clinton tried this when he was in office. He floated the idea to take funds from private 401k plans in exchange for promissory notes that the government would pay it back "someday" which we know means never. The idea was DOA and I guess he went back to boinking that fat pig intern.

We all know that this is what is needed and we all know that neither side will agree. It is what it is and neither side will give in. They are the facts.

True, as long as spending is off the table everything should be. Im not sure why people expected a different result when they sent the exact same government back to washington

It really doesn't matter who is elected. Things would not have changed either way. The two party system is now ruining this country.....period.

I overheard the news lead-in for tonight. Went something like this: "President Obama moves to engage the public to gain support for taxes to avoid fiscal cliff. Republicans criticize his tactic."

Says all you need to know about the GOP. Why would the POTUS engage the public? The general public is so inconsequential. He should be meeting with CEOs and GOP leadership only.

The old school bully pulpit is a tried and true tool that only the President has at his disposal. Good for him for finally using it.

We wouldn't tolerate a trust or consortium controlling any other market besides the market we choose our elected officials from. Pretty sad.

Watch carefully folks....this initiative is likely the opening salvo in the larger quest to seize privately held 401K and IRA assets in 'exchange' for GRAs. A middling treasury official admitted as much in congressional testimony on 2010.

Does anyone else recall this testimony? I googled it today, but found no link. Essentially, the officials testimony was that too many retirees get themselves all giddy in their 60's and waste THEIR retirement assets on RVs and vacation homes, only to go broke later in life, causing them to look to the gov't for support. Answer: deprivatize (read: steal) those assets in exchage for a Gaurenteed Retirement Account (GRA) which, ostensibly, would pay out a monthly amount scaled to the amount seized, etc.

This is all being driven by the Gov't's lust as it eyes the huge and 'idle' assets in these accounts which are helping no one, according to Ms. Pelosi, but the people that OWN them. How unfair that people want to OWN THEIR OWN ASSETS. No, far better that the Gov't take control, and give these selfish creeps an allowance.

The end of our way of life is not near....its here. November 6th was our last, best chance of catching this runaway gov't. And WE BLEW IT.

So you REALLY think the other party would have been better. There is only one answer, cut costs and raise taxes. No way the two parties will agree no matter who is in the White House. It is the two party system that is BLOWING IT.

But gov revenue will take a huge hit with the guaranteed recession that would follow in 2013. Cliff = 3%+ off GDP, and current GDP growth rate is 2%-ish on a good quarter. Traffic in NoVA would improve greatly come Jan 2 while DoD personnel and contractors stay home but that is the only positive I can think of.

Teresa Ghilarducci never appeared before the House Education and Workforce Committee at the invitation of the Democrat Chair and advocated for a Guarenteed Retirement Account? Do you think you are allowed to delete history as you see fit?
