I use my celly most of the time here and that doesn't even have problems with embedded vids.

But Cary wrote in his explaination of the downtime that the new Phorum upgrade doesn't allow for it, but he was going to make an exception for youtube videos. I'm sure he's busy.

But I'm still waiting for his "anatomy of a troll" dissertation that he promised earlier this year after the Mr. Misery debacle.

It's probably some pain in the ass coding and not a lack of concern or desire, it'd just be nice to have videos on the saqme page insttead of chasing some clip link.

Just tested and we can still post < type tags with html... I thought that was the problem and all that was banned but I guess not. I was sure that all the thread killing abuse was done with some modified html tags inserted into the post and that Cary put a stop on that somehow.

All it takes is one douchebag to get bitter because they got pwned in a thread. The recent Meade flooder has potential for this.

Maybe he could make it so that only registered posters (with good records) can embed. :)

I hope he still does that. I was looking forward to reading it.

The issue wasnt about the quality of the video, it was the videos being posted multiple times in a thread causing the flash to crash. Primarily honey boo did this.

Maybe Cary could extend certain users embedding privileges. Assuming you’ve been here a month, haven’t trolled the site too hard and have made 10 posts you would be allowed to embed videos. That would hopefully eliminate most of the people who would abuse it.

Of course none of this works if Cary decides to go back to visiting the site 1 or 2 times a week for 30 seconds at a time. Bottom line is the more of a half-ass moderator (an extremely generous characterization of what he’s been in recent months) Cary is; the more, the legitimate, non-abusive users on this site will suffer.

Take the last DOS fiasco; because of the troll’s actions (and Cary’s inactions) the 99.9% lost out considerably. Not very cool at all.

When I heard video embedding was no longer allowed I immediately blamed Bush.
