Dirtbag PWC teacher charged with sexual battery

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (AP) - A middle school teacher in Prince William County has been charged with aggravated sexual battery for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old student.

Thirty-three-year-old Lawrence E. Lucchetti of Alexandria was also charged by Prince William County Police with taking indecent liberties. He was being held without bond Monday.

Police say they were called Friday about an alleged sexual assault at Beville Middle School in Woodbridge, where Lucchetti is a teacher. A 12-year-old girl at the school accused Lucchetti of inappropriately touching her.

School system spokeswoman Irene Cromer said Lucchetti has been suspended without pay. He has been a teacher at the school since 2002 and taught in its gifted program since 2009.
