Helicopter Flying Lesson for Beginners - You WILL FLY Yourself

Remember the thrill of driving a car for the first time? Well, that’s nothing!
Yes, you read the event title right! if you want, today you WILL FLY. You WILL TAKE CONTROLS OF THE HELICOPTER. Today, take this rare opportunity to take a one time helicopter flying lesson where you will have hands on learning experiences as you control the helicopter in the air.

Join TTD and expert helicopter instructors as we offer you an introductory class to learn the basics of helicopter flying. Each attendee will get 30 minutes in a helicopter (hour long lessons may be arranged on request to events@thingstodoDC.com for additional; price). After a mandatory safety lesson, each person will learn the procedures for checking in the helicopter; communication with the tower; reviewing all necessary instruments; take off procedures, and – of course – how to fly, steer and control your helicopter. Before you know it, your taking control of the helicopter and flying.
After the class, you can learn options about continuing on for advanced further lessons to receive certification as a helicopter pilot!
Classes are offered in 45 minute shifts. Only one person flies per helicopter (with a private instructor).
IMPORTANT: Due to the size of the helicopters, there is a height restriction of 6’3 and a weight restriction of 235 lbs.
NOTE: If you are nervous, you do not have to take control of the helicopter. This is purely optional. If you just want an informative lesson where the pilot controls everything, that is fine as well. You may make this decision at the last minute.
NOTE: The class is actually one hour long per person. So, the day before the event you will be e-mailed your particular time slot. If you need to request a specific time, we will try to accommodate you. However, time slots are assigned on a first come first serve basis (meaning whomever registered first gets first priority.)
