Joplin Road

Starting at Aden Road and going towards Rt. 1 there are mile markers starting with "Mile 17" and finally "Mile 24" at Quantico Cemetery. Obviously they are marking 7 miles...but what's their purpose otherwise...Anybody?

So you can tell the 911 dispatcher about where the motorcycle wreck is.

Since there are few addresses for reference along that road, it is for pinpointing crashes or incidents. And since it is mostly federal land on both sides, it won’t be developed in the future.
