Verizon Wireless experiencing 911 outage in Northern Virginia

WASHINGTON — Verizon Wireless customers in Fairfax and Prince William Counties may encounter problems when trying to call 911 Thursday morning.
Verizon Wireless says it’s experiencing an outage that’s impacting the emergency call number and 10-digit dialing.
People in the affected counties can text 911 from a Verizon phone as an alternate. Prince William County customers can also call the non-emergency line at 703-792-6500.
