Read this load of crap :

Friendly Reminder, based on tournament victories, number of college players, number of high school players and player honors/awards, GBA & Gainesville Travel are by far the top Travel program for young players in the County, and it is not even close. (Tip of the Hat to “Higher Level” AAU who also has strong teams in the past couple years, particularly in the Boys High School divisions, and generally train in the Eastern / Central part of PWC.)

Our Gainesville club has been in business for 27 years, has over 200 volunteer Rec Coaches, 20 volunteer travel coaches, and 25 volunteer Board Members. All our coaches have coached or played in High School, and most have coached or played in College. Generally speaking, most other local programs will only have one or two good teams, if any. But a lot of places are happy to take your money. We are all volunteers, offer the least expensive option, are closest to your home, and exponentially have the most High School and College players from our program.

Over the years we have listed out our top local area players, awards and college offers. Ask other “AAU” clubs to specifically name the college players that have played with their program, and/or ask for the specific playing and coaching credentials of the person coaching your child’s team. Unfortunately AAU has zero barriers to entry and often folks claim they are AAU trainers just by filling out a quick web site and offering “training” for a lot of money.

For the past 27 seasons, our mission is to provide a local, high-quality, inexpensive program for advanced players to make their high school teams. 95% of current Battlefield and Patriot Boys and Girls Varsity players STILL have come from Gainesville Travel, GBA & Gainesville Elite.

Gainesville Basketball Association is average to below average at best. By these statements and from their website, they try to portray their program as prestigious and as a top program in the area. Simply not true.

In short, GBA is trash and here's why:

1. Just because someone who now plays in college at one time played for GBA does not mean that GBA is the reason why that person played in college. They of course attempt to take credit for it. Another sign that this organization is trash.

2. GBA teams primarily play in the fairfax county youth basketball league, also called FCYBL. FCYBL, while once the premier travel league in this area is no longer considered such. The best players now play PYBL or continue with their AAU team as AAU teams do play all year. On the girls side, FCYBL is a joke.

3. Don't be fooled about GBA's claim to have mostly former high school and college players as coaches. GBA has mostly PARENT coaches. While Parent coaches are not always bad, there are quite a few who blow donkey dick.

4. And just because someone played in high school or college does not automatically mean that person is a good coach. I have seen plenty of high school shitbirds who don't know dick about the game. Just because you sat on the bench complaining as a high school bball player does not mean you are a good coach. It just doesn't.

GBA can suck a dick. If you want to play for a real team that gives you a real shot at a future in bball, try a Nike EYBL team like Team Takeover or Team Durant. Or even an Adidas gauntlet contract team (dont know any in this area). Those are the circuits where the college coaches go to recruit. No college coach in his right mind would be at any trash FCYBL game. What a joke.

Finally, if you are good, it doesn't matter where you play, someone will find you.

XOXOXO

Did the coach show her how to palm his balls? I hope she learned abput pulling out, with the ever popular lesson abput how men often "dribble before they shoot".

They don't have proper coaches. Our summer coach only showed up for 5-6 events then he ditched the kids and they had no coach or supervision for the rest of the summer season. What a waste of $$$$$$$$.

The fees for GBA are higher then all local leagues. Travel (FCybl) cost over $400 per season. Then the coaches try and convince you to play in tournaments that cost even more money.

Herndon is $250
Cya is $275
Loudoun is $250.
Springfield is $245.00
Manassas is $200
Arlington is $230.00

Gainesville is getting rich

Time for coaches to volunteer to coach the best basketball organization in all of virginia.

We have had 6 NBA players play with GBA including Kevin Durant.

3 of our girls currently are playing in the Wnba including Brittany Grenier.

We have also had over 100 division 1 college players come through our program.

None of these people would have made it if it wasnt for the GBA
