Why does the left love muslims so much?

This is an honest question.
Why does the left seem to love muslims more than their own country?
- They rationalize and defend the actions of terrorists.
- They defend Hamas, when it is really Israel that is the victim of constant attacks.
- They defend muslim "free speech", but not that of American citizens.
- They demonize those muslims who cry out against the extremism and abuses of their own religion. (See Maajid Nawaz and Ayaan Hirsi Ali).
- They defend the push for sharia law within our borders.
- They ignore the execution of homosexuals, trans, (etc) by muslim countries.
- They refuse to call out extremist and radical muslims for what they are.

And that's just a sampling...
